An abstract should be a summary of your entire paper in about 75-150 words (the Purdue OWL says 150-250, but this really depends on the length of your paper). You will probably start with your thesis but you should also make note of your methods and results (albeit briefly).

The abstract follows the title page, and starts with the word Abstract, top-center (your paper should already include the paper header). The abstract is not indented.

It may easy for some people but it's pretty tough for a person who never used it!! I hate it, really. I just don't understand why my teacher wanted us to use this to do her assignment and didn't explain anything about it! Kind of suck and I have to go everywhere to find and try it. If you noticed, at 1:14 when she set the margin, it did not work. Notice the ruler on the left does not show a 1" margin, also the cursor is still at the top of the page. A few moments later, at 1:41, the margin is magically corrected. That is because she changed a setting without showing or telling you.

Here is the setting she changed:

click TOOLS/OPTIONS/VIEW

Then click the box titled WHITE SPACES BETWEEN PAGES.

The margins will now work.

Great job with the video. I'm glad you did it from scratch rather than Microsoft Word automatic format. I have a couple questions though. I did use an automatic format in MW and there is the Title page the same as you set up only there was no identification of the Name of Class/ Instructors Nam/ Date at the bottom of the page. Also the second page was dedicated to the Abstract page. Has the APA format changed? If so which style is the most updated version? Thanks again for the video.
