  • Darn shame there will be no manned NASA missions by the time he's old enough for it.

  • has Morn 1415 seen this? This is AWESOME!!

  • hes cute anyway what ever he does him taken an interest in good enough

  • Haha how cute he had the hiccups ^_^

  • Clever kid.

Finally some good parents teaching kids more than just saying their own names or mommy and daddy a thousand times.

When I see parents dressing their little kids "fashionable" and forcing them to listen to horrible, shallow pop music I fear for the future. Not with this kid though.

There's hope for the world yet.

I knew the planets in correct order aged 6, I learned myself. My dad taught me all the letters of the alphabet when I was 3, but he knew nothing of astronomy. Hehe.

  • That is one smart kid. If your school system has a gifted program, get him in there soon. He has a the beginning of a brilliant mind.

  • That's so cute!

  • I KLICKED THUMBS UP :-)

10 PEOPLE KLICKED THE WRONG BUTTON :-X

THEY PROBABLY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THERE COMPUTER :-D

  • Is he reading or just reciting what he's been told to say when seeing the Planets. I notice he said Neptune before it actually showed the label underneath.

  • @dazinbolivia

Thanks for your question. No, kids usually cannot read until age 5. He memorized them from hearing us tell him the planets a few times. He recognizes them by sight but also has memorized them in order of size.

  • why can your two year old read :L ?

  • Well that's a Physics Nobel Prize right there....

  • can he build me a spaceship when he grows up? :) I think if you keep teaching him he might just do it.

  • WOW ....Now this is almost as amazing as the video ( which is awesome )

What a bright spark YOU are Eli !!

  • Strong in the force he is... a awesome astronaut he will be, in the future.

  • @CheetahTira1412 He is the chosen one master!.

  • @stankado10 lolololol

  • But of all the stars in our amazing universe, children like Eli are by far the biggest.

  • Very cute! Astronaut to be! :)

  • Wow, You Tought Him Good.

  • Wow, You Tought Him Good

  • cool i like how my 8 month old cannot say it he dances it lol

  • You're welcome Rhiannon :) And you're quite right, there is very little more enjoyable or rewarding than seeing that look of pure joy and wonderment on the face of your child as they encounter something new, or suddenly grasp an idea that had previously eluded them. We have been amazed at our eldest's ability to understand, what seems to us, fairly abstract concepts. Often it is hard for a child to understand things they cannot see or touch, but she seems to just 'get' them. All the best :)

  • My 2 year old can say the alphabet and count to 20, much to the amazement of her nurse, but we know she's just repeating what she's already heard a million times. The important thing here isn't what he's saying, but that he's interested and therefore learning about the concept of big and small etc, and that he has parents who are willing to spend time with him and show him wonderful things!

My 2 year said 'wow! that's amazing mummy' and 'ooh, it's the sun!' when I showed it to her :)

  • Kerry: Thanks for your supportive comment. I agree that the most important thing here is his enthusiasm for "all things space." From our experience with our 10-year-old son, children frequently change their interests/passions and it's so rewarding (and important) for us parents to be there to support their desire to learn new things. It's also important not to dismiss these interests as they come up because children are far more intelligent and capable than many people give them credit for.

  • @rhiannonschmitt

Indeed they are capable! A 10-year old girl discovered a supernova several months ago, made quite a few headlines.

  • either he's reading it, or he memorized it.

  • what a GOOD mother :)

  • Cuuuute!

  • It might have been repetition. You can show kids videos several times and they can familiarize themselves with the material through rote memorization. At this age, it's more like a game than the awful chore of homework. I think some of the stars looked too similar so his attention waned, (my would too). But videos like this make me think technology is responsible for the Flynn Effect! Maybe he'll grow up to be an astronaut or go to Mars! We need more parents like this, promoting science! GJ! :)

  • and I wished he really knew what they were and how big they really are...

  • @rhiannonschmitt Ok then I sure wished he could remember them for at least 1 month...

Hes never going to remember them forever you know!

  • He didn't know the other names, noob. LOL jk cute kid with a really great memory. :)

  • Comment removed

  • wow, even i can't do that! haha

  • He is so smart and so adorable! I can't believe he remembered them all. Soooo cute!

  • @dccplicious He probably got taught 9 times a day for 7 weeks before making this video:)

  • So freaking adorable!
