I wish such machines had existed in the 1940s to 1960s. They could have avoided the clear-cutting and environmental destruction in much of northern California, Oregon and Washington that eventually resulted in the near-collapse of the logging industry.

An excellent way to clean up old growth trees! Environmentalists may complain that cutting down old trees is not good for the environment. I disagree. While we don't want to chop down every tree we see, it's good to cut down a few trees here and there. It makes for a more pleasant walk in the woods. It makes for less chance of fire hazard.
