  • ok so when you primered over the DA mark, and sanded with 800g, did you paint after the 800g?

  • Stripping paint is probably the most tedious task of painting a car.

  • What kind of plastic is that? what do i ask for? great job on that paintjob

  • didn't he cover the key hole?

  • Whoever keyed that car is a douche bag- unless it was your cheating ex's car.

  • i want to know why the hell did he paint the whole door. why panel paint when it looked like the damage was in the center. blending seems to be the logic way and the vid doesnt show the finished product with all the tape and plastic off to show it all matches.

  • true that, il bet the pannels dont match at all. better hope their mixer was on point that day.

  • agree ;)

  • All the white mechanics in my city are good repairmen, but dishonest. All the illegal immigrant (Mexican) mechanics in my city are honest, but crappy repairmen! Lol!

  • dam dat bitch keyed his car good lol

  • LOL

  • u can tell that is an insurance job

  • from one to another it must be said good job mate ,talented guys have it sussed in half of a shift

  • Guys, I just wanted to know if I should buy a compressor and an airbrush or should I buy spray cans?

My car had some minor body damage and Ive repaired it with body filler. Now Im on the stage to paint.

Its a black Honda Accord, but the colour doesnt seem totally black, I tested "gloss black" on a spare body panel but it doesnt match up. My friends lexus matches up but my cars colour seems lighter a bit "purple'ish".

    What should I do

    Please help, thanks

  • The right color for your car should be on the inside of your door where the hinge is. It will say some letters stating the color. Go to your local auto parts/paint store and tell them you need this in a can of paint. You might also need to apply a clear coat. As done in the vid you will prob need to do the whole body panel depending where it is.

  • That first spray was it spray on body filler?

  • Possibly, as well as spray on primer/body filler.

  • i need to bring my truck to them! i got keyed also!

btw, covering the car in the plastic stuff makes it look like it died lol.

  • go to w w w. ROLLEDON .c o m

  • Im painting a car flat black, i know the clear coat helps protect the paint But is it nessesary? I heard something about a clear satin coat, is that real or false. Any one know?

  • nice! check out my vids, maybe you'll learn something...

  • if ur painting a hole truck dont u use more like 2000 grit on it so its realy fine or would u go higher i jus wana rough up the surface enough bc the truck is a turquoies color and im jus guna paint silver with black flake so wat do i need to do

  • 800 grit on primer? lol what the heck lol guess to each his own i woudlve filled the scratch with primer then sanded ... im lazy tho it came out great is all that matters and was quality work keep up the good work

  • Dont you want to remove the door handles?

  • best

  • amazing!

  • looks good but that car got hacked.

  • explain

  • professional high end shop would always remove door handles and would always blend the paint to adjacent panels no matter what the color it is.

  • its all in the skill home skillet

  • Lots of people are asking about blending in this video. This is an Audi in strait black, no metallic. I use Standox Line and this paint code requires only one toner #571, so no, blending isnt really necessary, there is no mixing. Also BMW's strait black is the same as well, paint code is 668 and uses toner 571 also. Obv if this was a silver or any other metallic you would have to blend. gotta love these jobs when you can walk into them. VW black is Tiefschwartz. also one toner in standox

  • Well said, sure is one of the easiest painting situations you'll find. Even quicker if you choose single stage masking: prime, flat, clean, paint, clear coat...done!

  • I don't see u using spongetape in the "door cracks"

isnt it full of varnish overspray now?

and no color difference with the front and rear fenders?

    otherwise it's a job well done :)

  • no blending ?

would have wet flatted the scratch out with 800 grit this would save on primeing and blended repair into other panels

  • what about scratches put deep intot he metal..800 grit wouldnt get that deep of a scratch out and priming is insurance of a good job

  • Use body filler for any deep scratches.

  • good job man

  • show

  • LOL,slap it on there!!!

  • that is the correct way to make a nice job, yoou can also use aerosol primer some times is enought but you have to know when to use it

  • aerosol primer is great if you cant get ahold of catalyzed primer.but if you base too heavy you will get "butthole rings" in it and is alot more work to get out. Also hard to get a build with a lacquer primer.

  • no blend? is that a single stage? i would have put a thin coat of glazeing putty over the scratch then primed but thats just me

  • YE YE THERE IS GD MONEY IN IT IM AT COLLAGE and benfield ford TRAINING 2 BE A PAINT RE-FINISHER IF U ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST YOU CAN BE EARNING UP TO 50,000,n the hardest part is probably knowing how to prep properly 95% prep and 5% paint. so dont think its jst painting theres alot more to it

  • is color matching hard?

  • anyone reccomend me going to school for autobody is there good money in that?

whats the hardest part of auto painting?

  • Yeah, I'm in school for it now it the thing to do!

  • Good idea! I've seen numerous methods used in the same body shop, each to their own I guess.

  • Nice job, man. I need to paint a panel van I own- ever done a video on that? lol. Seriously, though- I wonder if you wouldn't mind giving me some tips? I want to paint the whole thing and its a big joker. Any hardware (handles, latches, mirrors) are all removable. Do you need to sand every square inch of any surface you paint? Good work, man.

  • A great place for you to start would be to head on over to our web site (address is provided above 'category' top right box). We have a fantastic solution for rookie auto painters, good luck!

  • what do i have to study to get a career like this? what sort of people should i talk to?

  • Again...head on over to our web site (address is provided above 'category' top right box). We have a fantastic solution for rookie auto painters, good luck!

  • nice job overall mate. done it completely different to how i would. u have any colour problems panel to panel even though its a black. i would of feathered out the sratch abit more and put wet on wet primer on instead of high build, still get the same results but abit quicker.top job mate.

  • sorry for taking so long to get back...it's a little hard to see in the video but with the finish on the Audi being a non-metallic, the process of color matching was made a whole lot easier, hence why the two doors were only painted and no blending was needed either side.

  • ahhh right,i couldnt tell if it was metallic or not. a straight black colour never really requires colour blending. it allways seems to be 1 tint of black in the mix (with dupont paint that i use anyway). cheers for the reply mate. shitloads better than other peoples piss poor attempts at painting.they make me laugh!!!!

  • Car Cosmetics are approved by VW so I guess they should be pretty good!

    All the best.

  • awesome
