There Was a Time, This I Love and Street of Dreams tell the story of Axl Rose and Stephanie Seymour (Axl's wife in this video and November Rain).

Chinese Democracy is a very fine album. I belive that many songs', from Appetite, Illusion, or from Democracy, lyrics' birth developed and then heppened for Axl's conflict with his own psyche and for depression for his seperation with his wife Erin Everly. I do not think that he ever even loved the Victoria Secrets model Seymour as he demanded the engagement ring back after their break up, but for Everly, he was always trying to be with her.

apparently seymour was cheating on him, thats why when it ended bitterly he demanded the ring back.

i agree that he was deeply in love with erin everly. sweet child o mine is about her and what a beautiful song it is.

the songs on Chinese Democracy are also rooted in axl's life experiences which is what makes them so heart-felt and beautiful.

This is one of my favorite songs. It and the original one is great lyric and mucsicaly. I also enjoy playing it on the guitar. Axl and Shannons vocals sounded great together. Its a shame Shannon oded on cocaine. Axl and Shannon should have done more songs together
