  • @jason123456789210 Not sure why you would think American homosexuals would want a larger displacement engine in a van, but OK - whatever.

For long hauls, a decent displacement diesel is fine. For inner city work, go small. Too bad the EPA here can't see the forest for the trees. Perhaps you were referring to the Federal Government of the USA when you mentioned "fags"?

  • There is no better option in the United States for cargo OR passenger vans than a Sprinter. The Sprinter has many Best-In-Class features including: Cargo Capacity, Payload Capacity, Interior Standing Height, Fuel efficiency, Maintenance Cost and MANY others. Keep in mind, the Ford Transit Connect is not even in the same class as a Sprinter (in the U.S.).

Sprinters are built by Mercedes-Benz and are marketed under the Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz names in the U.S.

  • @BuyaSprinter : They first introduced a short wheelbase Sprinter which was ideal for city work. Every try to parallel park a full sized van in Queens? With the 5 cylinder MB diesel it was economical as well. Folks who have them are holding on to them and rolling them well past the 100,000 mile mark. It's too bad the new Sprinter's a huge van. I wish someone would make a Chevy Astro- sized van with a small diesel in it.

  • Wow, i can't believe I couldn't find a 2 year old video, of someone saying the exact same thing I was seeing something.

  • the dodge sprinter is a mercedes with a dogde badge on it, and sprinters are the best vans in the world. I own the oldest one from 95' and his has a 2,9liter 5 cillinder turbo intercooler engine, and it keeps going and going and going. the only major repair was a head gasket, and the expencive flywheel and clutch set. i weld the excaust 3 times, and only change tires and brake pads and disk.

i always drive the hell out of it, and it's the best reliable thing on wheels i ever had.

  • Full size Japanese vans

  • emforty2 , why just bring in the micro vans from Japan ? The Japanese auto makers make excellent full size vans too which absolutely beat any offerings from Europe hands-down. We run a small fleet of Mazda Brawny vans , Japanese imports , here in UK. They are all duallys ( twin rear wheels ) with 4 cyl 2.0 diesel engine and column auto . They get 50+mpg easily. They are brilliant vans ,. theyd sell like hell in the US . Toyota , Mitsubishi , Nissan and all the Japanese makers make similar vans.

  • one point... europe is not a country.

  • bring in the micro vans from japan Toyota Lite Ace, Mini Ace Micro Ace etc vans from nissan, suzuki, honda, mitsubishi,

etc and Vans from korea hyundai, kia, Sangyong etc.

the micro van segment had long been ignored in the USA

this is nothing new in europe and asia where everything is mini or a micro try to fit a Sprinter in streets of Venice !!

  • Why just bring in the Japanese micro vans? The Japanese auto makers build excellent full size vans too ( Mazda Brawny / Bongo , Mitsubishi Delica / L300 , Toyota Hiace , Nissan Vanette , etc. They are fantastic , better than USA vans and better than any offering from Europe. We run a small fleet of Mazda Brawny vans ( Japanese imports ) , all dually ( twin rear wheels ) 2.0 diesel ( 50mpg+ )with column auto. Fantastic vans , cant beat them. Theyd sell like hell in the US!

  • American cars and vans are shit, built by farmers!

  • @R5P205

"built by farmers" , these farmers rape u anally worldwide too, hahahahahaha

  • Big engines dont have to mean bad gas mileage. We have just got a new GMC Savana with the 6.6 L V8 Diesel . Weve also got Transits ( and other vans ) . On the highway the Savana gets very good mpg , not much different to the Transits. At around 60mph the Savanas big V8 is only doing around 1300 rpm ,the Transits 2.0 four is doing around 3000 rpm. Smaller 4cyl engines have to work a lot harder and arnt necessarily more economical than the big American V8s. Also they wont last as long .

  • I run a ford e series ( 4.2 v6 ) here in the UK , I also have an f150 of my own . I love American vans and trucks and will be very sorry to see them replaced by our " euro " vans. The Ford Transit is a good van , as are other euro vans , but theres nothing like USA vehicles. Ive always had American vehicles. Previously weve had Chevy vans with straight 6 motors. Weve also had Transits and you can get auto on them ( ours are always auto ) We dont all drive manuals here in UK !

  • yea we do most uk cars are manual

  • No we dont , Ive been driving in UK for years and never had a manual transmission ( apart from company vans with column -shift manual transmissions ). In all my years driving Ive never seen what the point is in manual transmission. If youd ever driven an automatic you too would wonder why they bother with manual.

  • The transit has a 2.4 turbo diesel engine which from experiance gets 32mpg which for Americans will be a bit of a shock and as other commenters have stated a much more practical van than its american counterparts

  • The Ford Transit has a 4 cylinder TDI that can push the monster up over 80 mph. It gets better mileage that a Ford V-6 or V-8 gasoline powered van and is "greener" as well. The Europeans take their CO-2 compliance seriously as well. The Transit a better cockpit layout, and cargo layout than the American products. As long as folks can learn how to shift their own gears, this thing will be a winner.

  • I couldnt agree more. I dont see why on earth the americans have to have a 8.0 engine in their vans. a transit only has a 4 cyl like you said and they get the job done easily. Im not one of these green people who are obsessed with the environment but the amount of emissions them trucks must be kickin out is ridiculous. Why do there pickups need a 8.1 L V-10, when a 2.5 litre diesel does the job? Relying on auto's aint helping much either.

  • @divisioneight

The GMC Savana has an 8 cylinder 6.6 liter Duramax that can push the monster up over 80 mph. it has more payload capacity than a Ford transit and is more durable as well. In America we take our work seriously. American products are more usable, and has more configurations than the transit.

i can remove the seats from my KIA Sedona minivan and already i will have more cargo space, comfort, and power.

  • @999equalizer: I hear you sir. The rear wheel drive of the Savana platform never failed me when I drove one several years ago. The gasoline 6 liter always ran - ALWAYS. It had plenty of reserve power, and was comfortable. But it's long wheelbase made it challenging to park, and maneuver in NYC where I sometimes worked. If I had no calls to NYC - it would be a Savana with an air ride seat, and a work station in the back.

  • the dodge sprinter is just a mercedes sprinter with diff logo on the front

  • im a ford guy but what about chevy

  • it should happen... american vans are stuck in the 70's. disgusting if you think about it

  • "Vans from Europe, or some other country."

Europe is not a country ;)

  • we all know what he means

  • Americans don't know what their missing most of them have never traveled outside of USA

or don't really care whats happening outside their own little world

  • It might happen but American's want huge gas guzzling SUV'S!

  • i hope not. i love the e series and savana.

i own a 98 ram van and i love it too
