Shogun by the time was the best fighter in the world. His knee was 100%, his shape was better, he never had any surgery and his cardio was very good as well. He was almost unstoppable..
@stanley2011 cant agree with u man. he was a lil fat against henderson and a bit slower. he trained just 1 month for the fight due to a shoulder's injury. even though he's tough as hell. he took punches from hendo that very few can take. I think the closest he got to that PRIDE era was when he KOd liddell and fought for the title vs machida winnin an unbeatable man by the time.even though they gave the decision for machida he clearly won. unfortunately he had 1more knee surgery after the belt..

I can tell u.. he wasn't even 60%. the problem was that he had JUST recovered his knee, he wasn't training at 100% yet. another huge problem was he got a lil disfocused since he conquered the belt and had to pass to another surgery. he went to curitiba-brazil his hometown to train and left his camps in sao paulo and U.S.this didnt worked well. it isnt excuses Jones did his job perfectly though
he said, and his manager said that he was able to train 100% for the camp and felt 100% for the fight. when he isnt 100% he doesnt say stuff like that

Shogun by the time was the best fighter in the world. His knee was 100%, his shape was better, he never had any surgery and his cardio was very good as well. He was almost unstoppable..

@stanley2011 cant agree with u man. he was a lil fat against henderson and a bit slower. he trained just 1 month for the fight due to a shoulder's injury. even though he's tough as hell. he took punches from hendo that very few can take. I think the closest he got to that PRIDE era was when he KOd liddell and fought for the title vs machida winnin an unbeatable man by the time.even though they gave the decision for machida he clearly won. unfortunately he had 1more knee surgery after the belt..

@2PacsUncle maybe.. but what u gotta realize too is that most of Shogun's wins in Pride stomps and soccer kicks were one of his most dangerous weapon.. and its not allowed in UFC. and a looot of Jones wins in UFC his elbows were a huge weapon for him and wasnt allowed @ Pride. and lets say sth.. Shogun was compleeeeetely out of shape when he fought Jones. But I agree with u, Jones is a beast. It would be amazing to see him fighting the 'Pride' Shogun in Pride rules. kicks and knees to a grounded opponent only works when ur opponent is on the ground. and i dont see shogun getting jones on the ground at all. and even if jones slips and falls to the ground its not hard to prevent soccer kicks/stomps

I can tell u.. he wasn't even 60%. the problem was that he had JUST recovered his knee, he wasn't training at 100% yet. another huge problem was he got a lil disfocused since he conquered the belt and had to pass to another surgery. he went to curitiba-brazil his hometown to train and left his camps in sao paulo and U.S.this didnt worked well. it isnt excuses Jones did his job perfectly though

I talked to coach Cordeiro before shogun fought griffin on UFCRio and he told me to relax that he was 100% and will knock forrest for sure. CONTINUES
