  • awesome!

  • been a guitar guy for 40yrs. Nobody uses a whammy bar like Jeff Beck

  • Roger Taylor Queen & Rod Stewart sounds familar here

  • @ROBINAMK5 Both have that raspy quality to their voices. I like Roger better....but this was emotional seeing Rod and Jeff after many years. Beck-ola!

  • Missed Your Cue Roddy!!!

  • Why doesn't anything cool like this happen when I go to concerts?!?!

I tried to get this to happen a few years ago when I knew they would both be performing in Toronto a day apart. No luck though.

  • And young Tal gets to be on stage and play bass with these amazing legends. I think she deserves it, though, because she's good, and you can see that she loves making music.

  • Beautiful.

  • damn yeah man! After the 70's decade, when they formed The Jeff Beck Group....its a real emotion see Rod making a "surprise" to Jeff, live....look at Jeff's surprised face when he sees Rod...amazing video! Thanks a lot man!

  • Man, they are both sooooo great!!!

  • They both still got it! Superb.

  • why dont they make these musicians anymore? Tal WIlkenfeld knows whats up. Curtis Mayfield 4ever.

  • thanks for this

  • People Get READY!!!! Jeff and Rod are recording a record together...reliable source indicating you WILL need a TICKET if they tour!!!!

  • Of coarse Jeff knew! Rod introduced 2nd song w/out hesitation! .... Just in they are recording CD together soon!!! Prays do get answered..... can't wait

  • There is no doubt in my mind that Beck was surprised to see Stewart here - and went with it! Awesome!

  • Pulled up to a traffic light on PCH and Topanga Canyon I'm in my pickup truck.....along comes a black, convertible Porsche the guys got a guitar setting on the passenger floor with the neck skyward.....the guy looks at me and smiles, it Rod Stewart... it was just great!!!

  • Who's that chick Jamin, she's good !

  • That's from Beckola, with the Apple on the front !

  • Love this video!

  • good acting, but he knew- that's why he's playing it in C instead of D.

  • the brits are the best

  • Magic like this is why we worship musicians. and yeah Tal is a goddess in every sense of the word.

  • This is sweeeet. JB is one of the last of the greats for sure! I think he knew RS was going to be there, as both of these tunes are played in a much lower key for Rod

  • ジェフ・ベック、、ロッド・スチュアートが出るの知らなかったのかい?^^

    いいなあ^^

  • el Sr Rod Steward grande entre los grandes, pura emoción su voz

  • Jeff is great. I wonder why Rod doesn't acknowledge him on interviews, he seems to always sidestep any references about Beck and I think Jeff was the main catalyst for Stewarts fame.

  • Jeff Beck = Class act.

  • can anybody tell me the name of the song?

  • @atimelcin Two songs... People Get Ready and I Ain't Superstitious! GREAT!

  • Comment removed

  • @atimelcin People get ready. I ain't superstitious for the second one.

  • It brings a tear to my eye...

  • He still has Vinnie C on the drums!!! Hell yeah.

  • @jayjettgtr Not as of last year... he switched out pretty much everyone in his band... probably cause he worked Vinnie and the gang to death for years.

  • I love these guys, they are both part of the joyful part of my teenage childhood

  • Still good now

  • Beck and Stewart were great live then and now!!!!!!

  • Nothing ever changes.....somethings get better.....others don't....but one thing is for sure and will never change. JB always has half the stage and everyone else has to squeeze into whatever's left.

  • @BeauTokyo Well ya, except everything changes always.

  • Thanks for the excellent upload.

  • Jimmy Page himself stated on more than one occasion that he PATTERNED Led Zep after Beck-Stewart. In Plant, Page found his Rod Stewart.

  • MUSIC HISTORY! Beck & Stewart again after 40 years!

  • I've said it before and I'll say it again: if this band had gone to Woodstock like they were supposed to, they would have been bigger than Zepplin by an easy country mile. Beck was always the trailblazer and the innovator. Pagey is a good player, a real technician and an expert arranger, but Beck was the big brother who showed him how it's done. Right back to the Yardbird days.

  • @spacemonkey1463 With all due respect, I believe Led Zep I is far better than Truth. Jeff Beck's personal issues and no showing cost him back in the day. But hey, to each his own! This is still great stuff!

  • Rod Stewart&Jeff Beck, Very nizzze>>>People get ready the Train is coming, don't need no ticket!!!!! Just FAITH;););););) "OUTSTANDING" Salute Ciao:):):)***:):):)

  • which album was it on original

  • @moverdave1 i think it was flash by Jeff.

  • although he can't sing the way he used to I still would have lost my sh!t if Rod Stewart came out during one of the Jeff Beck shows I have been to. And to think that 6 people have had the unmitigated audacity to actually dislike this. This is a little slice of music history.

  • who is the girl on the bass??

  • @elderthewelder her name is Tal wilkenfeld . She's was in Beck's touring band for a while . May still be , I don't know . She is Australian I think

  • they are both extreemly talented with history thus adaptable, and Jeff can play almost any style or with anyone he wishes so doesn't need to prepare.

  • I'm sure Jeff knew Rod was coming onto the stage. As Rod came on, Jeff was ready to play a bit of the rhythm part of this song. Besides, if he hadn't known, he mightn't have prepared "Superstitious".

  • I wish Rod would go back to singing stuff like this or even acoustic/Faces-type stuff instead of that "song book" crap he's making now. Rod Stewart singing Cole Porter just doesn't do it for me.

  • @rodentcafeteria say that again&again and several time's more. say it just like you have because it hasn't been said more truthfully.

  • truth is one of the best records ever made

  • Beautiful moment and performance. Wish I had been there ! I saw JB at the Olympia concert on october, 11th this year, in Paris and it was amazing. Real, captivating & always interesting music - the guy's a REAL artist. The performance her is nice too ! First track is delicate, and Rod showed the subtle, tender side to his voice. The 2nd was not as good as it was originally on "Truth", but still very good. Heartwarming anytime to see those two together ! And the bass player is just so cute !!!

  • Rod should have waited and let Jeff play more of that awesome intro.

Curtis Mayfeild would've been proud to see what JB has done with this song.

  • Beck has always been to me the ultimate guitarist, I personally do not think anyone in rock, fusion or R&B can touch him. He is a master of the guitar, makes it truly sing.

  • how nice too see that

  • Awesome.

  • Ya I just downloaded this mp3 at soundnabber..com

  • they should better do this overwhelming blues de luxe!

  • deux vieux potes avec un talent de folie

  • Actually the two of them shared a stage in 1984 when Jeff was involved in Rod's 'Camouflage' tour.Needless to say it didn't last long and Jeff bailed out but there is a FM broadcast recording in circulation of the Tacoma Dome gig on July 8th. Jeff played on Infatuation, People Get Ready, Rock My Plimsoul, I Aint Superstitous, The Pump and Bad for You.

  • The 1st Beck album I bought when I was young was Rough and Ready. Although I was listening to him with Yardbirds long before that!

  • Saw the original Truth band twice in the US in 1969. Unbelievabe band. . . Ron Wood on bass Nicky Hopkins on Piano. . . . Ended up being a road not traveled. . . A kind of traditional rocking blues approach . . . with Beck's guitar and Stewars voice was unbelievable. . . They imploded and we were left with the more cosmic and excessive Blues of Led Zepplin. . . still great but I would have loved to have heard three or four more albums out of the first Beck Line up.

  • wtf how old is that bass player?!?

  • These two Rock Legends should tour together again. That would be something to see!!! Maybe one day that will happen.

  • Superblues!

  • Beautiful!!

  • Did you notice how Rod pointed to h"higher volume?" Tough putting two super stars on the same stage.

I watched them at the Fillmore East fight for the audience with their toes on the edge of the stage.

The recent tour Beck did with Clapton was awesome...

  • fucking amazing

  • Rod Stewart started his career with Jeff Beck in the "TRUTH" album, but had a falling out before the Woodstock concert in which they were set to play, but Jeff backed out at the last minute. Rod was so upset that he split the band and started Faces with Ron Wood. They never played together until this concert, which explains Jeff Beck's reaction when he turned around and saw Rod on stage with him!

In 1975, Jeff played in Miami, but the main show was Rod Stewart. They did not play together!

  • Waw!!!!! JB is a big big musician and Rod has the voice that makes my heart beat so hard.

    When happened this concert?

  • Bad blood between old band mates? Jeff Beck had bad blood with EVERYONE. Why do you think he never kept the same band for more than one album at a time? Some guys egos are impossible to work with. Thats why I respect Jimmy Page more. Also great, but humble enough to know how to work with others over the long haul.

  • @kkellybass You're wrong. Jeff Beck has had MANY albums with the same musicians. I know someone who is a very good friend of Jeff's. He is a wonderful person and great to work with.

People need to get FACTS before posting wrong information.

  • @krit5 oh really? I was not aware of that. So youre telling me that Beck had periods where he recorded more than one consecutive album with the same band and singer? COuld you tell me the names of those albums? Im not up his current line-up, but I do recall his early stuff. Yardbirds, Beck Bogart, Appice, the Jeff Beck Group, and Jan Hammer....all before 1980. Seems like instability to me.

  • @kkellybass Well, first off, Jeff's albums (his solo albums, besides 'Flash') are 99% instrumental, so, to answer the question, it would be an answer towards his musicians. Consecutive albums would be 'Wired' and 'There And Back'...'Who Else?' and 'You Had It Coming'. Just type in Jeff Beck discography on Wikipedia and you can see the line-up on the albums.

  • @krit5 THANK you for correcting him. Good God... it's absolutely nuts that people would bad mouth someone they know NOTHING about so they look badass on the internet.

  • @krit5

    thank you for saying,

Jeff should be treated with justice.

    He's a great guy,very firendly!

Some people loves to talk the shit without understanding.

  • @kkellybass Sorry but that is utter garbage. Jeff has a different band every few years because he likes CHANGE. He doesn't take the route that basically every guitar player takes by never changing their style of play/backing band. He keeps changing styles over the years and that's why REAL musicians love everything the man touches.. he redefines everything he does.

Also, he is one of the most humble musicians EVER. So much as to never want to discuss music with people. Just his cars.. :)

  • @AxisofJustice21 Sounds like the same kind of rationalizing that guys who have been married five times use. It always because of the OTHER person, or circumstances. Its NEVER simply because they are complete self-absorbed jerks and impossible to get along with. Let me tell you, if you have been divorced 5 times, it aint them, its YOU!

  • @Thefootexpert That's fantastic for the divorcee... too bad it's not how Jeff is at all. So.. you lose. ;)

  • @AxisofJustice21 Can't agree more. Jeff Beck's as fresh as he was four decades ago. He plays every style out there, invents the rest.

  • @kkellybass

    Seems you don't undertsand Jeff.

  • Thank you!..Jeff and Rod..

  • Isso que surpresa quando aparece o rod stwart

  • I knew there was bad blood between these to old band mates,Jeff looks genuinly suprised to see Rod was this a spur of the moment thing by Rod,whatever its great to see them together again

  • Comment removed

  • Damn Roddy's gettin old but he's still got it!

  • JB looked surprised. Wonder if he didn't know? Rod looks humble watching his old band leader and master guitar player.

  • @yankeelawdog I agree ... JB is shocked! He puts his hands to his face at the end. Very touching.

  • @yankeelawdog I was there...he didn't know. If he did, then he deserves an Oscar for the acting job he did.

  • Just a really nice moment. Great to see these old bandmates patch things up.

  • What song is this?

  • @Supa1Doopah967 the first one is People Get Ready the second one is I Ain't Superstitious

  • My guitar hero, Jeff! My favorite albums are Jeff Beck Group and Orange. But still, as long as Jeff plays, anything is cool!

Thank you for sharing this precious video with us!

He'll be coming to my home town day after tomorrow!

  • The 2 kings on the same stage. SMILE

  • Did Becky get those boots from Farina of "The Little Rascals?"

  • So smooth and easy. Wow

  • Here's to old friend's!

  • @silviac1977 I think it was because Rod Stewart surprised Jeff by coming onto the stage with him after many years apart. Probably emotional for him/and a bit of a surprise :)

  • @TheTruthtable I cant wait to see Jeff live

  • The original of Truth, still give me the CHILLS .,

  • Does someone explain to me what happened at 0:55 minutes?i don t understand.Thank you

  • Is it my imagination but does Rod Stewart have his raspy voice back?

  • Did hell freeze over ... No way is it 1985 thx aeglive peace and love

  • Rod needs to write with beck again

  • The very beautiful and a VERY talented bass player: Tal Wilkenfeld. Look her up. amazing

  • amazing.magic

  • Point being?? The man is genius.

  • 30年前から今日まで、ずーっとロッドのファンです。

  • Their reactions are priceless

  • Comment removed

  • I like the change in key :)

  • Who is that bass player? That stands there inb front of her stack?

    She's in the pocket.

  • well done mr bakey and mr brown

  • Observen el detalle de la corbata de Stewart...

  • Legends at work here!!!

They came a long way since the jeff beck group late 60ties.

  • This was after Rod's throat surgery. I saw him in concert directly after he started touring again. Very difficult, retraining a perfect voice. Now, severl years latr, he is neary as great as his beginning. either way he is in his 60's and has used tragedy to create strength. I love all his songs but this song with him and Jeff Beck originally was totally aweome.

  • You should appreciate any time these people play, cause one day they'll be gone....

  • Jeff is one of my all time favorites, TAI is awesome.

  • love Tal in the background boppin' away at 3:10

I absolutely love Rod's version of "People" off a bootleg or something Paris in the 70's - he just sings

he's tryin' too hard here, good man though

    Tal and Vinnie at 7:30

    priceless

  • Tal is an aussie!! We celebrate so much crapp in this country but you never hear Tals name mentioned...just a sad state of affairs.

  • Great to see these two back together and Jeff seems genuinely surprised.

  • it doesnt get much better than this...magic...

  • I would like to hear Rod Play with ROBIN TROWER!!!!!

  • There is life after or near 60.

  • Rod has lost it. On People Get Ready there were flashes of his late 60's/early 70's live vocal genius but Ain't Superstitious was embarrasing. What is with the wails of yeahhhhhh? It's funny cos he's trying to be a 'soul man' he sounds more like Sam Cooke now than he did in his younger days. The yeah, yeah and Ain't Superstitious repeated lines were annoying. Why couldn't he just let Jeff blast away on his own like in the recorded cut. The American Song Book 'Rod the crooner' has taken it's toll

  • rod was the shit

  • Truth was one of the first albums I bought when I was a lad - always thought this group was an extraordinary collection of talent. Great to see this - thanks.

  • @johngill , i still have the original album i bought in '69

  • Get over yourself, D weed.

  • Talkin' about "dantean".

  • Oh figure it out already. The (Vinny) is just there--that's all. Go listen to any Otis Redding drummer and hear what it means to be in charge without taking a song and stomping all over it with your miserable "groove."

  • ....................... just beautiful ....... im new to Beck but i remember this version when it came out ... been a while ... awesome ... as is his influence in jaggers just another night and on blaze of glory... Beck made them songs

  • Great job by both. Nice to introduce Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions to the world.

  • The original Jeff Beck Group was by a mile the greatest live band of the Sixties - saw them almost a dozen times at the Boston Tea Party and the Fillmore in SF - so let me pass on a note to each act's management... I'd gladly pay a thousand dollars to see these two cats tour together again.

  • Greatest live band. C'mon man. you are forgetting Miles Davis, John Coltrane and a host of other amazing musicians. Put it in perspective.

  • some guys just have it, don't they? Look at those two, they look great and can still deliver. I like the way Jeff brings out special guests at a lot of his big city shows. I saw him recently in London when Dave Gilmour came on. It was magic.

  • Special guests are all honoured to share the stage with a legend like Beck.

  • To hear the boys again together for a rendition of Shapes of Things would be....

  • Brilliant! I do love Jeff Beck for his personality and so on. Seems like a respectful guy. Dosn't seem to be drugged up all the time. Keep Rockin.

  • Oh My!

  • Beautiful! It's not only music, it's art!

  • OMG. A Jeff Beck Group reunion with Ronnie Wood would dominate the concert scene. Let's get the ball rollin' boys.

  • I saw the jeff Beck group when they came to Australia they are an AWSOME live band.

  • Sounds like Mayer's Waiting on the World to Change was inspired by this.. or they just sound similar. Good stuff though!

  • exactly wat i thot

  • ce que j'aime av'ec beck ; c'est que je ne suis jamais déçu

  • it is impossible for any of us to comprehend how hard this song would be to play live....but Jeff stills pulls it off

  • Saw JB at The Fox in joakland CA.few months back.I had not seen him live for 30yrs,he hasn't lost a lick,if anything he's better than ever!!

  • I was at the same show. It was great. Most of musicians of Beck's era have seen their skills diminish. Not Beck. He's actually better in his 50's and 60's. He plays clean and tastfully. I understand he some type of a health nut and that might account for his youthful appearance and guitar skill improving over time.

  • I couldn't agree more. One of the few, and absolutely exceptional guitarist to this day. It's great to see him doing this song with Rod again too.. after all these years, the nostalgia is heartwarming to me. :o)

  • the jeff beck group , it's fabulous jeff beck and rod stewardt together

  • Just needs for the 3 Hair Guys. Ronnie W

  • actually never mind, i just typed the lyrics into google and it came up. its a bob dylan song. its called... "people get ready"

  • It is not a Bob Dylan song, it's a Curtis Mayfield song.

  • yeah i know, i realized that after i posted, then i tried to post and correct myself but it wouldnt let me. but thanks for gettin the word out there about my ignorance. ha.

  • hello

  • Name to song?????

  • People Get Ready

  • yeah really, who knows what this song is called?

  • Jeff Beck in Brighton last night, absolutely fantastic, he is the best, no question!

  • going to see him tonight in Birmingham i am so psyched!

  • i never realy thought about this but jeff never tries to be the best but guys like mayer and van halen always battle 4 the top and if jeff shows us wat hes made of like speed he would be rated the best but he already is in my book

  • haha 0:53 and love this song
