Electrorama doesn't belong into this collection of fine scifi films. It's just a meaningless, blown-up, boring video clip that's stretched over full size length. It's one of the worst "things" I've ever seen. It's just nothing and the makers try to be artists. It's even not a film. You need to cloud your judgment with drugs to watch it without hitting the fast forward button, I guess. It doesn't belong side by side with some of the pearls. My poor time of life that was wasted.
Final Countdown showed alot of modern carrier ops via stock footage, but was a letdown plotwise; the film ends with a convenient reverse time-storm just as the Jap attack gets underway, unfort., so there's no oppt'y to carry out any plan they might have had to change the future. Best part is where the Japs strafe the Senator's yacht off Oahu. Can 1 kicked ass; O.J. has, like, four lines of dialogue but does well dramatically when crossing the desert. Wargames also good, but a thing of its time.
This is a cool trailer. Curious if anyone has heard about the new sci fi book THE ICE GORILLA. Word has it producers are looking to turn THE ICE GORILLA into a movie right now. Has anyone heard differently.?.?
I don't think that "The Final Countdown" is under-rated. It was a big-name movie when I was a boy. It appeared on the big screen nation-wide. It had Kirk Douglas in it!
I saw "Capricorn One" many years ago. I'd place it a notch above "Hangar 18."
These seem to be nice suggestions, and I like the fact that it's not just a sequence of posters with some music over (like most of these lists seem to be on yt, I dunno why people bother doing these) but rather there are these short descriptions. However, I think that perhaps preserving the original audio would be better. The same music all over changes the "tone" of the movies, at the same time that the "silence" of the characters make it a bit boring to watch.
The music is driving me potty! I'll have to watch with mute. I totally forgot that Martin Sheen was in The Final countdown - which is about the legendary Philadelphia experiment.
funny you made this video compilation. I was planning on making something like this also with legowelt sounds supporting it. Legowelt really puts his finger on 80's cult and sci fi movie atmospheres. Cool Stuff man!
Cypher reminds me of Billy Idol's song Neuromancer. It doesn't have a 2002ish look either. It looks like the 21st century as extrapolated from the early '90s...which I like.
My favorite SCI-FI: Alien series (#1), Star Wars (only old school),Jurassic Park series,The Fifth Element, X-Men, Robocop 1-2, Terminator 1-2, Minority Report, Stalker, Solyaris (1972), Moonraker, 2001:Space Odyssey, Total Recall, Signs, Equilibrium, Contact,Metropolis,Avatar
Underrated SCI-FI I love: Mimic, Serenity, Demolition Man , Lawnmover Man,Strange Days, Ultraviolet, Mission To Mars, The Arrival, The Shadow, FutureSport, DeepStarSix, The Cell, Them, Judge Dredd,Johnny Mnemonic, Congo

If you're going to use the full trailers why not just include the sound from those trailers?
