In closing, private investigators/detectives deal with many different types of cases, such as surveillance, insurance fraud, missing persons, stalking (something the police hate dealing with) and yes, even criminal cold cases. I would be happy to match my own investigative skills against any police detective, anywhere on a level playing field. A degree in Criminology on my office wall would certainly be an asset, particularly for new clients who look for 'paper,' as well as experience!
A degree in either Police Sciences or Criminology would certainly compliment my diploma from ICS in Private Investigations, considering the 27 years I have put into my career. Many police officers and detectives I have met over the years seem to have a higher regard for security officers and private detectives who have some sort of diploma or degree after their name. Don't ask me why, but as George Bernard Shaw once said..."You have got to have paper."
From what I have learned, the degrees are issued by a private university that is legally allowed to confer degrees. I have seen other schools that cater to business professionals who have acquired degree-level knowledge and skills over the years, but going back to school for four years would be counter-either be financially impossible or just not practical. As a licensed private investigator, I would match my own skills and abilities against any police detective, however.....
I can get a real degree from an actual univerity. if interested contact me
