@BakaNeko224 If you think the remainder of the deliver charge that the driver doesn't get goes into some sort of insurance then you are naive. The only thing it goes to is the company. And @weatherman2007 and @huckster699 are right. As drivers we only get paid around $4 an hour when we clock a run out. If you are driver you should look into your pay. This is 3 people telling you that you are wrong. You probably make more money as a driver than an insider because of tips.

This is for "gas" What is left over from that $2 gets put aside for your insurance through the company should something happen to you... Not to mention tips... So... And I CERTAINLY earn more money as a driver, than I did as an insider... but they will have me work both ends

My store was a Franchise and soon as corporate took over it went to shit. No Pay raises for drivers or insiders and an increase in delivery charge. Papa Johns is a typical corporation. They screw over the little man to save a penny.

We make 735 inside which is our minimum wage while we make 4.25 while on the road. When Papa Johns started this policy they sent out a memo stating they were doing us a favor to pay us minimum wage while inside.

@BakaNeko224 That delivery charge is there as a hustle/con by corporate Papa Johns to get a portion of my tip money. Also when corporate bought our stores they had an agreement that. To pay employees of the franchise stores the same amount they were getting payed when they worked for the franchise. They fell back on that deal when they brought in the tip credit system.
