  • Those overhead squats can be killer. Complex movement is great for building strength, balance and range of motion. Once you have all those tough core muscles you need to burn off the fat so everyone can see them. I like to try and do both at the same time by using challenging, high intensity exercises.   • who ever is advocating FULL core exercises and cardio, is Right. I recommend going to BareWeight-com and trying their at-home CORE and cardio videos. Surprisingly, they are free, full length and don't consist of overly complex, made-up moves.

    They are challenging (took me a month just to complete the Cardio Stamina Pump and CORE videos at a satisfactory level), BUT are amongst the most efficient & Effective Workouts I've ever done. Bareweight-com

  • People are so obsessed with complicated exercises they lose sight of how to truly get a great body... Almost EVERYONE has abs because you need core strength to get through your day, you just can see em because of that layer of fat.

    To get abs remember:

    Cardio > Any crazy ab exercise.

  • You don't get abs by doing any specific abdominal exercises... you do it by lowering your body fat percentage by doing cardio, eating right and developing ALL the major muscle groups so they burn fat.

    Keep your abs tight and constricted. You want to use your abs to perform the movements not any other muscles. Except for the squats, you're going to want to use your quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes for that. Make sure you don't use your lower back to squat which is a huge mistake that I used to do.

  • those squats need to go all the way down to the floor, if she cant get all the way down, she is not advanced enough to squat properly therefore cannot squat. It is not good for her knees.

  • @cutthatcity Full range of motion for the muscles, if you dont fully extend the muscles during a 6-8 week cycle you will shorten the muscle length. Plus as I said if she cannot go that low, with a loaded weight, the forces through the exercise will go into her knees.

    So when I squat I should go as low as possible? I can't even squat because I can't seem to balance myself if I try to do it properly? My knees have to come over my toes if I want balance.

  • @cutthatcity @cutthatcity if you can't get all the way down without losing your balance, you are not functionally ready to squat. You need to put plates under your heels to help out. Your knees can pass over your toes as long as they dont finish over your toes at the point of you changing direction. You may have to do a different exercise until you are strong enough to squat. Have a look at my channel for examples.

  • @cutthatcity To help maintain balance while performing a squat:

    - Keep your posture up

    - Keep your back straight

    - Keep your chest up

    If you need more opposition, lean a little forward as you squat.
