Good stuff. Any way you do sprawl drills? They kick your ass, this one looks pretty brutal esp with the stabilization ball that changes depending what angle the partner throws it @ you.
Got to say bruv, I stole your idea for the gym! I'm trying to get into MMA and I started sprawling for the first time. I've been using those balls ever since and people have been copying me!!!!! I don't know if i'm doing it right though
we use this drill to its really effective because the ball makes it essential you are down in time. The dude in the video has it down to a fine art. nice.
damn I thought I came up with this recently. I have kids line up in two rows and they sprawl on the ball and feed it to the next across and diaganol to each other. You beat me to it by 3 years and 4 months lol.
@MMAmedia this will be really helpful for my wrestling! i believe this drill will help me with my sprawls instead of just shadow wrestling and just sprawling in air. with this drill you actually get use to seeing something comming in low and sprawling on an actual object. thanks alot for posting this vid!!!!
Muy buen entrenamiento

Is this for cardio or does it actually help improve sprawls in a real match?

nice to see an old school drill come to use. Our wrestling coachs used this back in the late 70's and early/mid 80's....

I never thought of that. Great idea!! I will try to work on that when I get back in the gym next week.

Hey, not a bad idea, but what if there is no one to push the ball toward u?
95ellington 2 years ago
if on your own we get the guys to stan opposite a wall and kick the ball against the wall and sprawl on the return,
MMAmedia 2 years ago 2
@95ellington imagine the ball being the opponent that is trying to shoot. the drill helps with timing too...

I came up with this drill about 4 years ago and have used with lots of guys
Do 3 rounds x 3minutes to start, then progress with longer rounds and more rounds as fitness rises
get partnes to move closer and further away, add left and right sprawls , the options are endless
The ball must not touch your partners ankles/legs as this represents a catch
