just draw and edit. as my cuz has always said: if you come to a crossroad but theres a highway in the middle, then dont choose one road when you can choose both. in other words, if your stuck making a descision between two things, but instead of choosing one you can choose both, then choose both.

I would suggest you do both drawing and recoloring/editing - that's what I do! even though I hardly ever recolor/edit anymore because I'm better with drawing -w-
