@DisgorgedCorpse That's true, most of the songs on the radio get all the airplay they do because they're so easy to listen to. Modern rap is vomit-inducing. Anyway, it just sounded like you were saying "people who like to listen to rock/metal are better than people who listen to pop/rap" and I wanted to see what you meant. :P
advice about bosses. stand up for yourselves. everytime they break you verbally they win. you dont need to be there as you are more intellegent and can see through mind games and they hate ya for that fact. you will find sombody who will support you properly and treat you fairly. but ya gotta have the balls to quit the second they start on ya and remember, nothings worse than a boss that is down on ya all the time. ya may as well sit at home and find somone with decency treat you fairly.
i conjured up a music video. most of the treatments are abstract noise. my reflection is when i justified my head exploding on IV cocaine.. to the legend of deviance in no romance to the music videos. that impoded upon a junction and bipolar serial killer mindgame made up by now washed out RCMP fuckheads...
I imagine the worst things i could to my asshole boss, who undermines feelings of disabled workers. I'd play this in the basement of some abadoned apt. where the plaster peels off and cracks off the walls. I'd be drunk in my amusement, torturing this fuck. One dim light, swings above his head, tied to an old chair, mouth tapped, rubber gloves used for industrial chemicals only and a lovely mask. i feel better now. thank u nin.
Forgive me if you don't agree but I consider Se7en to be a superior film to Silence of the lambs that whole sense of not knowing is far more creepy than knowing what really is going on.
@orichalcossaiyan Conversely, the mind behind the voice in the song is of one who is conscious of the sin he is bathed in (lust) and only seems to use this awareness as a means to gratify his own selfish desires in an attempt to purify his being. Though the killer in the film was aware of his own sin (envy), his desire was to be expunged of his impurity by performing his 'selfless' deed of murdering other sinful individuals who chose to live in denial before wiping himself clean from this world.
When I was 15, I took GCSE Art and we were doing stuff on opening titles, we had to recreate one frame of any movie opening we wanted in whatever, like paints or pencil.
and I was stuck on what to do, and my teacher said, "you should watch Seven. Your kind of into films like that." I feel really ashamed because I hadn't seen it at the time.
@Smithereen1 In case your wondering, I did one of the many shots of Kevin Spacey writing in the journal. It was sooo hard because of his incredibly tiny handwriting.
Such a creepy, well-layered piece of music. But what is that little high-pitched bit at 0:33-0:40 - is that a bit of singing or an instrument? I swear I've heard it somewhere before, for some reason I'm thinking it's on the End of Days soundtrack.
@Tsuki04wolf LMAO...sorry but I actually laughed out loud. I dont mean to be rude but doesnt it sound like a piano?! ;P
In the original "closer" music video you see him playing that piano piece while floating... amusing for sure as is the entire video as well as the "closure" videos!
@ThomasJayDanaher This opening is one of the best movie openings ever and way better than Silence of the lambs I'd even say se7en as a thriller imo is a close second to Silence of the lambs.
Doubt NIN's impact on music was that profound, perhaps on the industrial genre, but not much in a broader sense. That being said, I'm a kid and I fucking love Trent Reznor, he's the god of lyrics.
Oh, and why the fuck did I have to watch a movie to figure out that there was a remix of Closer? Geez.
You guys do realize every generation says that about the previous ones music.

Actually it is a mix/deconstruction/reconstruction of Closer.
The Closer to God EP (halo 9) had six different mixes of Closer. The Downward Spiral (halo 8) had the original released version.

the original was also featured on Closer to God...but was originally released on The Downward Spiral \m/
