The test was outsourced to an independent company specifically to eliminate discrimination. They made more questions to be oral to accommodate (certain people) and they still didn’t pass. The NHFD won in the end but had to take it to SCOTUS.

What this idiot doesn't know is that the NYC fire department is the least diverse of all the big cities in the US. With over 90% of the force being white-male. This idiot also doesn't know of the nepotism happening in the department. Current firefighters helping family and friends get in, and given that most are already white you can go figure how that turns out.
What about white women or just women in general? You don't see too many of those in the FDNY.

After waiting for 3 years the 4 of them went threw the academy and have been working in NY.Nothing was handed to them.They didnt no anyone going in.They wanted it and they worked for it.What about all the white guys who didnt make it. The test was outsourced to an independent company specifically to eliminate discrimination. They made more questions to be oral to accommodate (certain people) and they still didn’t pass. The NHFD won in the end but had to take it to SCOTUS.

It's been the same tired argument for the past 30 years. Theyve already made the written test so easy a child could pass it and the physical is very watered down as well. The bottom line is whatever test they give the people who want the job the most will prepare for it and score the highest. If you can't pass today's test you simply don't belong. I did the job for 23 years and I know the companies are already riding with short crews and can't afford to carry anyone who cant pull their weight.

This is worse than slavery. There is no dignity in lowering the bar. Maybe in the Special Olympics it would be ok but these people have no disability and to treat them as such, is condensing, degrading, and demoralizing. The ACLU is destroying liberty with imitation compassion for profit. It is bad parents that are letting kids off the hook because it is too difficult. And that is where it starts. Lowering the bar of education is a heroin needle to the brain.

This is so true its sad that people are complaining instead of studying harder. I would be embarresed if i was to get hired because i was so dumb and couldnt pass a test and they hired me because i was stupid and complained that the test was to hard so they made it easier for me because im dumb.
