  • Great song. Just wondering why people are arguing over who wrote it. The credits on my CD say: SISTER MORPHINE (Jagger, Faithfull, Richards). 'nuff said, I think.

  • I love this song and I have lost my need to see things in pain,I dont thinkI I can wait cause the nurse is being a b***ch and does not no the pain I suffer from......

  • 4 yrs clean !! after at least 15 yrs addiction to H and crack !! now im living again !! my prayers go out to everyone in the grip of any addiction !! there is light at the end of the tunnel but as the cliche goes you gotta reach the bottom first !! then keep on looking up !!! KEEP THE FAITH !!!

  • Bravo Marianne for making it back from the never ending nightmare of addiction. Met you years ago in the States 20+years

Unless one has been through the wringer and coffin of addiction; you'll never know. I'm a lifelong drunk, but grateful, today, that I never ended-up on junk. Booze really ain't pretty. Always enjoyed this song before I understood.

  • Bravo Marianne !!!

  • THE BEST ♥

  • beautiful song ... beautiful lady, beautiful soul

  • every beatle and every rocker of their generation never had anything bad to say about mariaane. they loved and protected her no matter what. not only a fearless performer. a great writer and a huge part of music history... you people that only dwell on her downfalls, before you star tspouting bullshit, take a good look at your life and see how perfect you aren't

  • @57roberts you damn right...

  • Sweet Jane of Goth don't become a junkie but please tell me where you hear this on a jukebox, oops I forgot about the new ones where whatever one can keyboard will play, What about Johnny Cash. A wonderfully talented addict. Whatever spins your wheels, amiga You have every right to be venomous if you wish.I use that sort of language to provoke a fight yes I have started and finished a few. I've kicked arse and had my arse kicked back. Black and Blue, tried & true. But whyfight over music.

  • I find your attitude offensive, but I didn't tell you to go to her for counseling just don't judge one you don't know, Why are you listening to her? To piss yourself off? You don't shock or offend me. I can swear like a sailor or be a real guttersnipe myself'.Take me back to my big city ghetto I saw all sorts of things besides whining manipulative junkies.I just love her talent.I'm no stranger to pain I have had doctors prescribe too much morphine. I prefer some of my pain.I become an arse oh my

  • Sister Morphine is the Devil's Sister in Drag

  • Remarkable voice! She was very beautiful in her time, but the drugs took it toll...but this is great....

  • Sad, yet strong... Beautiful Goddess. Pls read her Bio.

  • "wild horses couldnt drag me away" - Marianne Faithful after a drug overdose.

  • There is fine music in every era, but the period that is called "the Psychedelic years" mid-sixties to mid-seventies is insuperable.Although it was blamed for drug abusing this music is the closest to human soul.

  • I reckon she's also the inspiration behind "Ruby Tuesday", or likely IS Ruby Tuesday:

"While the Sun is bright, Or in the darkest Night

No-one knows, she comes and goes

Goodbye Ruby Tuesday, who can hang a name on you

When you change with every new day

    Girl I'm gonna miss you"

  • Love it

  • she is harvested her career and is far from a failure,it broke her when mick left her alone.I am not that strong either!!!!I love her music and choice of words she is one of the greatest musical woman, her blunt and to the point lyrics................I am glad you made it!! c-moon

  • She wrote the song ..yes, but even MORE..she IS THE SONG <3

  • i'm just tryin to score...

  • read about her -LEARN how much of an influence she was -then listen to the songs about her -its funny how she lived and became unknown while janis died and became famous

  • ...she's technically, and legally, only co-writer. Who cares, Stones owned her in their version...as usual

  • grosaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TE AMAMOS EN BERISSO

  • Marianne Faithful is such an incredible singer. I always thought she was so much smarter than Mick - and also a more sensitive, creative artist.

  • @777Author AGREED SHE IS MY FAV ...LAURA

  • Noch nie diesen Song gehört von Marianne Faithfull - bin begeistert! - Schubladen sind dann erst schön, wenn man sie öffnet! Danke für diese Emotionen!

  • See I could have made the suggestion.. to listen to the lyrics a little closer.. "All the other patients , say they've never seen a MAN with such pain"... But as I originally stated.. written & composed by ~ Jagger They were dating at the time.. they both being musicians..??? well.. if you have half a brain you can put it together?

  • Polymorphia

  • And this recording was released before The Stones' Sticky Fingers.

  • The song after litigation is credited to Jagger/Richards/Marianne Faithful. From listening, I believe she wrote the lyrics with Mick. How it was actually written is probably hidden in her and Mick's memories. It's one of the most painful songs of addiction in the literature.

  • Is everyone on YouTube retarded? Iamlambian, educate yourself a little and you won't make a fool out of yourself. The Stones covered her.

  • Ms.M was every where back then!!!

  • She was living proof that you carefully consider what you choose to step in. So tough to scrap it off your shoes, when you're in over your head.

  • @mindfoodprime as your are in over your head,

  • beautiful urbex-images!

  • DECCA???

  • "Mick's song"?It's HER song

  • @Kevin107ish She wrote the song...

  • @RainCityBlues like she was a junkie

  • @SweetJaneofGoth So Fucking What?, You know about it! Some of the best music is born of great pain. listen to the voice ,emotion and lyrics, Open your mind, eyes and heart.take a vacation from your self and judgement.

  • @dog8channels Like I'm not about to become a junkie just because I can get on the jukebox. And like I don't give a shit if she was puting heroin in her god damn cunt. Like I wouldn't go to a serial killer for psychiatric counselling the same way I wouldn't listen to a junkie rant for relaxation. Fuck that junkie bitch.

  • I want yesterday's papers lol.

  • Funny how Stones's Yesterdays Papers video takes you here...pretty on the target.
