  • hey 240p , we meet again :)

  • Just finished building my gaming pc today, spent an hour trying to figure out if my graphics card was DOA after the driver couldn't recognize anything. It just so happens it slipped my mind to plug it into the fucking power supply :) Had a good lawl.

  • what case is this?

  • Can somebody tell me if I have to buy extra cables and stuff or if the parts come with them?

  • @QuickBlackFoxx you probably wont need extra cables

  • Stock coolers suck donkey balls

  • how much was this particular bundle?

  • step 1:pick parts

    step 2:put them together

  • @1966pikupstix

    Yeap, amazing guides.

  • i live in melbourne, victoria in australia and i was wondering, should i get the parts from pccasegear, umart or itestate or msy?

  • Great vid : no bs, all biznass. dudes voice is like Vince Vaugn's.

  • I think this is great !! a lot of us remember the good old days before high speed internet when the only way to learn was to teach yourself from a book and if you ran into any major issues (God Forbid) the only way to get help was to pay someone or maybe get some advice from a more experienced buddy. Now days you can plug a backup laptop into an a modem and get a step by step walk through on any trouble areas thanks to gentlemen like this willing to take the time to post. Thanks a lot man !!!!!

  • @D4N4RR people should go to spelling lessons too.

  • @sciguy14 You mean English lessons right?

  • @D4N4RR thats where i learned!

  • Thanks, this will help me know what I need to do for building my own computer. Also I got a tip from a friend, buy some of your stuff from newegg, it is pretty cheap.

  • Is there anything that can go so wrong that it gets destroyed or is everything re-doable?

  • I have problems with my pc! It wont boot or anything! I came to ur video to check if i've done everything right, and i have done all of that! It wont boot from windows, or any of the driver cds that came with the motherboard or this graphix card!

  • 6:52 Aren't those called "INternal drives"?

  • @Claeys67 I mean external as opposed to hard drives which are internal. They can be accessed from the outside of the system.

  • NEVER PUT ON A CPU FAN WITHOUT SOME THERMAL PASTE

  • PSU is installed incorrectly. Intake from the bottom and exhaust out the rear of the case.

  • i recognize the song. It's an FL STudio preset song that someone else mADE! you should reference them in your video lulz

  • You dont need to put thermal paste when putting the cpu in? im thinking about buying a new cpu but i dont know nothing about thermal paste and cooling :( help me please!

  • @JesusReveron You absolutely need thermal paste. It covers the microscopic gaps between the heatsink and CPU so you can get the best possible thermal transfer.

You only need to install it when putting on the heatsink though, otherwise it's just messy. Look up guides on applying it, you don't want to use too much or it defeats the purpose.

  • @JesusReveron

The fan/heatsink that comes with the CPU has thermal paste pre-applied. If you buy an aftermarket cooler, you'll need to apply a small pea-sized amount of thermal paste to the CPU once it's set in the socket.

  • After I build the computer (like shown in the video) and I power it up, can I just go in a configure the BIOS an junk? Or do I have to flash the bios or anything like that?

Sort of a newb at bios stuff... Im more of a hardware dude.

  • I swear I was told you have to apply some cooling gel glue type substance to the processor before putting on the cooler..

  • @daggertom1 his fan had it pre applied if you use a different fan other than the one intel or amd gave you with your cpu than you need to get the glue thingy and apply it.

  • one question did the computer even work?

  • @risemblitz *facepalm*

  • I think the hardest part of building a computer is the cable management.....

  • do u have to do all that anti static shit

  • @492716

    Why should you?

It's just that little spark that's gonna f up your expensive piece of hardware

  • ive heard that building your own computer takes some math skills. Im a college student but the highest math i have taken so far is precal do you think ill have the knowledge to build my own pc?

  • @nubemuffin dude you don't need math skills to actually build one, to write an operating system yes, but not to build the computer

  • @15Sparky15 yes i meant when you had to like "flash the bios" or w/e you have to do in that part.

  • @nubemuffin well, most motherboards nowadays, have a flashing utility you can use where it is simple as putting it on a flash drive and using the built in flashing tool, even so some motherboards have BIOS updates you can activate inside your OS. But really you shouldn't have to worry about flashing unless the motherboard literally doesn't work at all, Flashing your BIOS to the newest one isn't always completely necessary, in fact most times as long as you buy a new board, You won't ever need to

  • @15Sparky15 thank you for the information.

  • @nubemuffin It takes no maths skills what so ever.

  • I thought you would die when you get grounded

  • can i use a twister mat for the anti static mat.

  • you should put the camera over you so people know where your putting the cable/wires on the mother board

  • can anyone tell me good graphics cards, rams and cpus for a good gaming computer that will be able to play quality games like BF3?

  • @sprattde quad core i5 4gb ddr3 ram ati radeon 6950 graphics card should get you going for max graphics :)

  • the sticker was a joke right :P ..........no but nice vid !

  • after u build the computer how do u install drivers if u dont have the drivers cd

  • @hawaiki274 download them from the internet

  • @sciguy14 why are you touching the bottom of the motherboard?

  • @hawaiki274

First you will install the operating system, it will have default drivers to

get your started. Then, go to the manufactures web site, and download

    the drivers for your model.

Usually these will be chip set, LAN and audio drivers as a set, or separately.

  • i never built a computer before but damn it looks so easy :) thnx for vid tho makes me feel more confident with building one!

  • Great build! How long did it take you to master? Any classes you recommend other than PC Repair A+?

  • Pci card for wireless internet, does it usualy have its own slot?

  • this is more like it

  • 20 people didnt put the sticker on their computer

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, for a bit i though Vince Vaughn was teaching me about computers.

  • im building my gaming pc tomorrow and i'm probly going to be confused about the bios settings which video can you direct me to that will fully explain how to set up the bios efficiently

  • @MariosGuy I have a video called Post-Build BIOS, RAID and OS Configuration.

  • VINCE VAUGHN!

  • im just scared of buying parts and there DOA because i dont have the extra cash to send them back V-V

  • you just need to push the sprig down !!! no rotation needed

  • the arrows on the cooler , are indicating the direction you need to rotate for dismounting the cooler not for arming the springs. Your cooler is about to fall off now :))))

  • very nice info.

  • Im thinking of building my own computer just to get a hang of it and also replacing the current case of my PC.

  • For some reason im still woried my rig will explode when put together by me :C

  • the cooler is shit but i subscribed you because you rocks

  • so all intel stock heat sinks come with thermal paste pre applied? so no thermal paste needs to be applied on the cpu? buying an i5-2400..applying thermal paste is the only thing that worries me..

  • @phukyouu that's correct.

  • @sciguy14 thanks.. too bad i cant build my rig til april.. bought an i5-2400 online and was going to buy mobo but 1155 sandybridge mobos are being withdrawn from sale until april because of the sata 2.0 defect... i have a i5-2400, 4gb gskill ripjaws, coolermaster gx 650w, 2x HIS radeon 5770, 500GB hdd, NZXT lexa s case.. BUT NO MOTHERBOARD.. *rraaaagggeee*

  • @sciguy14 What about AMD?

  • @ScotjeRPAS What about them? The current intel technology is ahead, and has been for some time.

  • @sciguy14 From dansdata.com - All current Intel CPUs have a thermal sensor, which better motherboards can read; the new breed of AMD "Athlon 4" processors apparently have an internal sensor as well.

You could have just answered the person instead of getting smart with him.

  • @james193945 I never said anything about their temperature sensors. The question was not specific, so I asked for clarification, by saying "What about them do you want to know?". I then proceeded to suggest it may not matter since current intel CPUs are better (in my opinion). I was not trying to "get smart".

  • @sciguy14 I'm sorry if I misunderstood you, from the way I read it I thought you were trying to tell him it didn't matter since Intel was better anyway. I guess part of me assumes every person on Youtube is a sarcastic asshole lol. I shouldn't jump to conclusions, I apologize. I thought when he said "What about AMD" you knew what he was referring to since he replied to the person asking about sensors and thermal paste.

  • @MelancholyRose No worries. Trolls are lurking all over youtube!

  • @sciguy14 No kidding, they're everywhere.

  • i would like to buy new parts for my computer and i allready have some parts. i have a psu modecom 450w, ddr2 4gb 800mhz ram. and samsung 500gb 7200rpm sata drive and an motherboard. what other parts shoud i get for my computer.. i mean cpu and gpu ofcourse but what type? my budget for cpu and gpu is only somewhere between 150-250e (not wery much because i spend all my money to car XD)

  • this is really fast and does a GREAT job of cover the basics quickliy

  • @stoopidhumor1 thanks!

  • Is this your job? If it is, your a lucky guy!

  • Also, before you close your case make sure no cables are hanging too loose or dangerously close to any fans (cpu fan, graphics fan, etc). A case that has cable management holes is excellent for this.

  • This is just getting picky, but at 4:02 you shouldn't be pushing the pins in one at a time, that doesn't push the heatsink on evenly. You want to push in two at the same time that are diagonally opposite each other, and then do it for the remaining two :)

  • Oh, the sticker. Very important. You have to apply the sticker or else it wont work.

  • At 5:36 - 5:48 when your plugging in those LED power things do they just plug in??? or do those pins have to go in the slots or w/e you call them a certain one?!?!?!

  • @whitemanwii You have to refer to the motherboard manual to see where they plug in. They are usually color coded.

  • I appreciate the effort from this video, but my problem is that you cannot make out what this guy is saying when he talks. He talks way to fast and it is very hard to understand a word he is saying, sorry :)

  • @the guy below me

Just give the guy a break

    He didn't know

    Chill

  • Listen you lamer retards. Static electricty will NOT kill your freaking pc. Neither will using magnetic screwdrivers. It's all bullcrap, stop being scared little girls about your hardware.

  • I see you are taking precaution for static discharge, but are you actually connected to earth ground? Those static mats are to be grounded to a electrical outlet, you failed to show your viewers this. From my personal experience leaving the computer plugged in with the PSU switched off will leave your PC grounded also will not have electricity on the board. Those mats are nice in a production environment because you don't have to even think about static you just place your work on the mat.

  • @captaincough Yes, the mat it grounded to an outlet, and I'm connected to the mat.

  • @sciguy14 Cool, my geek radar can now rest. Piece :D

  • Can you make a tutorial on how to plug in USB cable?

  • I need to remove my processor heatsink but it;s struck there very tightly. WHAT should i do!?

  • @PirateKing1256 Use a crowbar

  • @PirateKing1256 (don't)

  • @RecklessDrift Omg..you destroy my motherboard. I took your advice and my motherboard breaks into half.

  • Comment removed

  • @PirateKing1256 xD I hope this is a joke.....

  • @PirateKing1256 lol.

  • Oh, and will I feel the electric shock If I fuck up with the grounding? It must be pretty disappointing to turn on the finished computer only to learn that something's broken in it.

  • How big is the chance of ruining the hardware if you don't ground the case?

  • ddr1 is just called ddr

  • Now, how the hell did Apple get all of this into a Macbook Air!?

  • @CrentBrent They didn't.They took a few Nokia N95s, flattened them and squeezed em in :-)

  • @CrentBrent Because apple wins.

  • All that anti-static stuff is bullcrap... I work with electronics and i know that even if you rub your motherboard on the carpet it won't make a difference You dont have to be grounded while building just make sure that, before you start your pc up, all the ground wires are in place and that the adaptar is grounded... Then it is all ok :)

  • and all that work for porn

  • @chobag It's worth it! =P

  • Your videos are very helpful. Thanks.

  • lol, it's not that hard to put together a computer. It's like a puzzle, a puzzle that comes with a manual. Just read it and you'll be fine. I was clueless as to how a computer was build when I built my first computer, I used the manual and it went fine, only problem I faced was that I forgot to plug in power to the CPU.

  • good video....(cable management 2/10) lol jk...GJ >.>

  • there is a weird low sound on this video

  • i noe this is s stupid question :P, but i dont noe shit about computers. can you exchange heatsinks between cpus? cuz mine is friggin noisy

  • @jonybonygon you can switch heatsinks as long as the heatsink you replace the old one with fits your motherboard socket. (AM3, AM2+, 940 etc.)

  • @razor005 if you look closely you can see that he never put the sticker on. Does that answer your question?

  • @zzurp Actually I did, it's inside the door.

  • Now this is a total novice question from someone who's never ever build a computer before. . . Now how do you know weather or not things will connect to one other? Like how do you know the mother board you bought is gonna actually fit and have the right sized connectors for everything? Sorry if this question is retarded but i really don't know the answer.

  • @cMARVEL360 make sure your mobo chipset matches the cpu. example for a 2nd gen intel mobo make sure your CPU is socket 1155 and your mobo is a p67 chipset. 1st generation is 1156/p55, there are heaps of different ones i think AMD ones are all compatible though but im an intel guy so i dont know. choose a gfx card with PCI/e OR AGP and make sure your mobo has a corresponding slot. make sure you choose a mobo with a SATA connection for your hard drive. and watch heaps more tutorials. HTH :)

  • @joselovesPCs um i thought he explained alot of things to me i built my computer off of this

  • @ninjachuub Agreed... Very informative.

  • @TruthForTiki THANKS :)

  • . I used to build these as a spare time sort of job.

They are much easier now mainly thanks to windwows xp.

Youd install everything and it booted ok but then youd find you needed drivers for this and that to work which was a right pain.

I also used to help people out with comp probs but it got a bit time consuming and I had to stop that,

The parts are designed to only fit one way usually so its not difficult.

Main thing if youre thinking of this is your motherboard the heart and soul of it.

  • this is a very good video

  • Are you serious about the sticker and the CPU not working? What in the world could a sticker do to not make the CPU work?

  • @razor005 It's a joke

  • @sciguy14 I think he knows that, he's being sarcastic.

  • @joselovesPCs Ah. And how many videos do YOU have about building PCs?

  • AMD FOREVER!

  • i can't see where you plug the cables

  • loving the cable management :D

  • on that mobo are you using a PCI express cards

  • @nitro300 Yes, the video card.

  • @nitro300 ok thanks

  • i like that case every thing snaps in no added problems

  • Does anybody feel like shit when you spend 200 dollars on something that's less then an inch on all sides.

  • Is the anti-static mat really important?

  • @sciguy14 or you can just touch the power supply on the case with the power cable hooked up.

  • @MidnightOrganFight lol no, not unless you've notice you get zapped a lot in your house. just touch something metal before working you'll be fine.

  • @MidnightOrganFight so friggin important, I was 12 and didnt know about static electricty+computers=death, I worked on my floor with socks on and stepped on the floor and dragged my foot and i heard a BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP

    and it never worked.

  • Now I understand why My computer did not work. ( I did not put my cpu sticker on the case ).

  • @yourmombomb101 Was that a joke? Or will not putting the sticker actually affect the functioning of the PC? (I don't know anything about computers)

  • @privateping Yes this is a joke. LOL

  • @FredMayX2 It always comes with the motherboard.

  • @FredMayX2 Antex P180 Mini. Search for my review of it.

  • im in a basment so if i take my shoes off im grounded

  • i had that graphics card!!!!!! it sucks now :( i need a new one

  • good tut but the cam man is a bit crappy like when you install the graphics card i sm1 didn't know how they would have to look at another tut! :( Good tut

  • helluva good video u made man... good job

  • What is up with the whole anti-static thing? i'v never heard any one ruining hardware with static. my pc does give me tiny shocks though when i thouch it, but it doesnt hurt. Please enlighten me :)

  • @geertex Human's discharge electrostatic energy. It can damage computer components, so you should take measures to prevent it.

  • @sciguy14 when you touch someone and you both get shocked, you release a good 7000-12000 volts. Guess how much can ruin a computer component? 200volts. That's why.

  • @sciguy14 meh, the computer handles much higher voltages and amperages then we can put into them, not a big deal

  • @dereileak That's completely false. Electrostatic discharge results in potentials of thousands of volts, more than enough to fry any electronic component..

  • @sciguy14 I noticed you said the mobo antistatic bag is only antistatic on the inside, so don't rely on it to rest your case on while buildings.

-but couldn't you just turn the bag inside out?

  • Ultimate GUY !!

  • There is no need to ground your self, lol.

  • @Dangcosmo Yes there is, lol.

  • @Reality9O No, we've done it without, you can ground yourself by touching something made of steel/iron. But ofcourse, it can happen that you are static loaded, but actually that's rare. But if you won't take the risk you can buy those handcuf shit lol. Because if you're static loaded and you touch it, it will damage. But no problem, if you have an ASUS motherboard you can return it, and you will get a new one just for free.

  • id laugh is hard if someone actually put the sticker on thinking it won't work without it

  • you need to hold the cpu cooler when you are putting in the motherboard

  • get some real screw drivers YO!
