Lord of the Rings has the most memorable and most beautiful soundtrack ever. Only by hearing the songs, I can tell, what happened when in the movie, just because the music is always outstanding and fits perfect to the atmosphere :)
The version released in soundtrack form is often modified from the film version. The exact version from the film can be found in the Complete Recordings for the third movie, which is available on iTunes under "Lighting of the Beacons", I believe.
I, myself, prefer this one. Just personal preference. The basic theme as the beacons are lit, however, is the best musical moment in the entire trilogy in my book.
@FreakForFilmScore Thanx 4 info! I've already found what you are talking about - the movie real tracks - at some torrents but thank you anyway for the information about the difference.
P.S. How can one use iTunes when there are lots of torrents? Btw i've downloaded lossless FLAC with whole soundtrack of the movie from 1 to 3 part.
@PointNubProductions i get shivers at that bit. its like being built up for a drop in a dance/house tune, but several hundred thousand times more epic
got to listen to the whole track with eyes closed. then, from 2:35 onwards: pure splendour might majesty ecstacy awe opulence radiance regality epic august utter giddy SPEECHLESSNESS... beats than any drug-induced high.
When Harry Potter and Lord of the rings came out, which happened in one year, I wasn't sure which was better. Now 10 years later I'm sure about 1 thing Harry Potter franchise is decent but LOTR trilogy is classic.
@dobrev1dqd Harry Potter is great... I grew up with those characters... But only the books are good, the movies were good to at first, but then they ruined it... LotR however, is totally awesome in every way and in every form :D
at 2:36 i showed up and killed all of those orcs with orchrist (thorins sword in the hobbit which he is buried with yes i got it from him it was ok his ghost told me to and now bak to the actual story) and thats how minas tirith was saved that day
Can anyone tell me the name of the starter melody..... like form the scene when Aragorn and Boromir are talking in Caras Galadhon and this tune comes in... very emotional... so if anyone knows the name can you tell me... or send me a link it would be much apreciated <3
@paulmewis almost... its from the scene when boromir starts talking "My Fater was a noble man..." that part...^^ you should check it out what i mean just type in the search bar: "The White Tower" ...and you''l see.. i realy want to find hte whole part of the soundtrack :3
@ceperse Actually, The "Gondor's theme" played in "Lightening of The Beacons" begins in D minor whereas the "Gondor's theme" in The White Tree(2:37) (which also exists as a soundtrack) begins in D major. In addition, the climaxes introduciing the "Gondor's theme" are not the same in both soundtracks (A major for this one and G major for "The lightening Of the Beacons" played in the movie). Those are the only differences I noticed.
oh hell no... lord of the rings is way better then harry potter. i probebly get thousands of disslikes and hate mail. but lord of the rings was made loong before harry potter. the books i mean. and honestly... il rather club someone with a stick then start waving a chopstick and yelling magical words untill a guy flyes thru the window. no offence harry potter lovers. ok. i like harry potter to. but lord of the rings has its own story that is waaay better.. no offence.

Sons of America! Of Europe! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. Aragorn: Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!
