When you moved in your walk thru came with a move in sheet, Me, myself for the protection of my residents and my owners I would take pictures of the responses my new tenants wrote down. With that keep those pictures with the move in statement and do the same practice when they move out. Copies of pictures and all signed paperwork were also given to my tenants when moved in. All this normal wear and tear that she is scolding you about
Being a property manager myself for the past 10 years, I am still flabbergasted by the landlords/owners who forget that the tenant who is vacating invested money to their asset. The lack of appreciation and gratitude, instead you get singled out by and flawed because of a characteristic that you smoke. Then insults you with a statement that her husband would deny you based on that characteristic. In my eyes its wrong but the law is still unclear how this is handled. Lastly this process
I also rented a carpet cleaner and steam cleaned the carpet myself but the carpet was old. The carpet was at least 30 years old and th landlord said that the carpet was no good anymore and that it had to be replaced. It should have been replaced 20 years ago!
