Initially he might have. This commercial was aired in 1986. Whether it is truth or not is irrelevant. It just serves as an ironic comment only. He used the limo service 2005-2008 according to reports. And the point is moot since he stepped down. Not something you would have expected from Larry Craig, Dubya, Mark Foley, etc. etc. - the gullible people are those that thought the last 8 years were not filled with scandal.

This war was over many issues; economics and state authority was doubtless important to planation owners, but to dismiss slavery as a cause is to have a narrow revisionist view of history.
& the South didn't want slaves treated as humans, except when determining the electoral college. 3/5 was a sad compromise.

The war was fought over economic Oppression ONLY! Ever heard of the "Morill tarriff"? Lincoln & his Congress passed it soon after Lincoln took office in 1860. It more than doubled the "Tarriff" southern States had to pay from 20% to 40% & bankrupted many of them.
When the war started, only 6% of the people in the South owned slaves, what were the other 94% fighting for if the issue was "slavery"?? LOL!

McCain isn't someone we chose, the media and states that allowed voting over party lines got McCain on top in the primaries. Who was the media darling for the Republicans and the Democrats in the primaries?...McCain and Obama. Everyone else got steamrolled in the media. Just ask Hillary. Once the primaries were over, the media turned on McCain just as predicted and of course the economic problems didn't help. But of course, the media blamed the Repubs for that too.

What I meant by states that allowed the Dems to cross over and vote for McCain, they knew that Obama was getting a free ride through the press so instead of voting for him in the primaries, those states allowed them to either cross over and vote in the primaries or they changed their party and voted for McCain, much like Rush's Operation Chaos and having Repubs voting for Hillary, which came close to working. In our state, you can only vote for the candidate in the party you are registered for.
