Oh man this thing is way too expensive, at Best Buy, start smart kit costs 499$ plus tax. I guess the installation is included in that price. But then you have to pay 30$ a year for your remote starter. My standard 2-way viper remote starter cost a little over $400, and I don't have a yearly fee. This is just a nice feature to show off with your iphone but definitely not worth it. Waste of money in my opinion.

I have a question, with the smart start kit, will I still need to buy the bypass module kit? It's the kit that I need for my Acura if I buy the remote starter.

yes to bypass the immobilizer around the key cylinder which your key does automatically when inserted. Since no key is present a module is required

Good idea, but I have a little question, What happens if you lost your iPhone? Or gets robbed? What can we do? And, Does it use 3G or Satelital conexion?

smart start works over 3g or wifi so no matter where you are as long as you have cell service you can start your car or lock it nice thing is that if you don't have a key for your car and press the brake it will shut off you still need your key to keep the car on and unlock the steering wheel

Yeah! I'm the first to comment! My 11 year son told me about this yesterday. How cool is this? I'm going to check into this. Not sure why there is a yearly fee, though. My last car had a remote start and I didn't pay a fee. But I'm sure because on this one there is a reason.

theres a yearly service because the smart start system has to connect to a 3g service which is something charged by a 3rd party in order to be able to use your phone to activate it from wherever.

No SCM Certificated for Europe So it is not a legal protection for your car abd the Insurance wil not cover any cost if your car is tolen in Europe!

Also it not works if you car is parked underground garage!
