Can't really fault it musically, though I prefer a more traditional style. But I really don't care for the changes in the lyrics.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (September 11), we sang this as our closing hymn. It is #731 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.

it's not really an old hymn, it was written in the 1970's for St. Olaf College in Minnesota.
