I had all the dolls, outfits, horses AND play sets. I found them in the attic a few years back. Now my 7 year old daughter plays with them. She even watches the DVD movies too. So nice to pass on this classic.
The sexism is almost delicious!(not that I agree with it)
Nevertheless, I love how aggressive and bloodthirsty the He-man Toy Commercials can get. Then when the She-Ra Toy Commercials come on a complete 180 is made and everything is suddenly peaceful and soothing.
@rexalss And the Crystal Castle in Etheria had Lighthope and Ancient Fire Beings of Doom/Awesome in the basement. It wasn't where she lived and it definitely wasn't pink. (She did get her sword's power restored there though so its sorta the source of her power, too.)
I complained and complained until I got this & Swiftwind one year and never understood why it was "such a big deal" (as a boy, I grew up in the rural south). It was the most uncomfortable Christmas ever, but worth it.
I hated how pink and wussy it looked, so I furnished it with some stuff from my castle Greyskull, and Snake Mountain playsets, and painted it grey to look more like Castle Greyskull.
My friends and I spent HOURS having battles with He-Man and She-Ra against Skeletor and Hordak.
Although I often had Battle Cat and Panthor fall in love and run off together.
(I always thought that they'd make a great couple.)
We had this at school! We got to play with it if we stayed for after-school daycare.
I remember my girl classmates & I wanted to play "house" with the She-ra action figure & the castle, but all the GI Joe's were taken. Our only other options were: 1) a Ninja Turtle, or 2) the He-man action figure. We gave it a try, pretending He-man was her husband instead of her brother. But it was too gross. So we divorced them & had her marry the Ninja Turtle instead hahaha.
I believe I still have this somewhere in my parents' attic. Apparently "Santa Claus" had a hell of a time putting it together. Should have seen my face that CHristmas morning!
The blond girl with the braid is Christie Clark, who starred as Carrie Brady on Days of Our Lives for many years. In another, similar Crystal Castle commercial she is in it by herself and you can more easily tell that it is her.
Bloody 'ell! That takes me back! I got that castle for my 11th birthday. It's in a cupboard at my mum and dad's house now. I thought it was the dog's b*****ks at the time!
This is how they got the name of the band. True story check out the MTV interview. CC forever!

No, you CAN'T pretend! I, Skeletor, FORBID it, Ha ha haaaaa!
Seriously, though, I've seen 4 of these commercials, and this is getting silly now.

I remember taking a piece of construction paper, coloring it all rainbowlike to look like "Lighthope", and taping it near where the throne was.
I played with this thing SO MUCH. :)
