This programme says that abrogation of certain verses in the Quran is a Saudi teaching but this teaching is actually rather standard and mainstream in the Sunni schools of jurisprudence at least. Just check out the textbooks for schools across the Sunni world that teach the abrogation of Makkiyah verses by Madaniyah verses.

I hate to say it, but ALL religions are foolish and always discriminate against and propogate the non-acceptance and hatred of all other religions. Though some, such as islam are much worse than others. But that is like pointing out that dog feces smells much worse than other forms of feces. I wish it were possible for the world as a whole to wake up and realize that these superstitious beliefs are only creating and perpetuating division and hatred of our fellow man, but it will never happen.

The biggest problem with Islam and trying to learn about it from muslims is the whole concept they refer to as "taqiyya". What this is, is basically an "exception to the rules" of honesty. It is interpreted that the Quran 3:28 verse means that you can lie as long as it's to an infidel. There are even websites out there which defend the practice claiming that islam couldn't exist without it.

This whole fucking cult is just so damn twisted. This is the danger of religion folks.

@YourBrainOnReligion Yes I agree they have this idea of misconception where they say one thing that might sound reasonable (to the west) but inside they put other meanings into the words. As an example: A person comes to a house and asks a person at the door "Is person X here?" The person answers "No" even though the person is actually inside but the meaning he puts into the answer is actuallly "No person X is not here in this very spot, the space between us". So to himself he has not lied.

Taqiyya belongs to a sect (that is so small) in islam (shia and not those who you call wahabis), which they basically use to decieve people. The real muslims (far majority) condem this act, openly and in small study circles as these. What we have is to lie when our lives are threatened (as in your pointing a gun on me, then I can tell you that I'm not a muslim).
