Think again. It's not Manchester's fault. They host bigger matches & numbers of opposition fans than you'll ever see, all the time with Utd. The city centre screens are also used regularly for international sporting events. The police know their own backyard very well. It was the Rangers fans who thought they could wreak havoc away from home. Out of sight out of mind. They thought they were free from the glare of club punishment. Well they are about to be prosecuted & banned. Good riddance.

I am Rangers fan who was in Manchester. I wouldn't even try to defend the mindless idiots that rioted. No excuses. Shameful. I didn't see what went on until I got home and was fortunate enough to have a trouble-free, enjoyable day (thanks largely to the Mancunians). Not all Rangers fans are bigoted thugs, but some clearly are. Incidentally and paradoxically (according to some comments), I'm also in the tartan army, which thus far has a good reputation! I hope people can avoid generalising.
