All you really need is a Sata to IDE card adapter which is $5 Bucks on ebay all day long. Plugs into the SATA device making it IDE Compatible, Simple and cheap!

@wmputnamhall - My thoughts exactly. That's what i did when upgrading the hard drive in my PVR. $5 from dealXtreme.

Make sure you remove the plastic jumper cover, so the HD acts as Master. I forgot to remove this intially, and i thought the adapter was faulty.

hI i just got a IDE to Sata conversion. Im converting from parrel to serial but my pc wont load its stuck on the VISTA loading screen when i connect up the old IDE to the motherbored I tryed bios settings for sata controller and its enabled . But it still wont work any ideas??

well a motherboard with no sata is probably so old that it wont support 1tb it will probably show it up as 50 gigs or something..

Sata Raid controllers go pretty cheap on ebay... around £10 unless of course your using a mac in which case you will be talking around 30 to 40 quid... Couldn't tell you how much that is in US but it used to be near enough double.

Yes, and they're fairly inexpensive. Amazon sells one, search for Addonics ADSAIDE SATA to IDE-ATAPI Converter. They're fairly straightforward and easy to use.
