  • Besides, as a fifth-grader in '84-'85, I was lucky enough to come across a Russian version of Cinderella, Vasilisa the Brave and Baba Yaga, and I just became so enthralled, in the years since, I've picked up bits and pieces of Russia and the Slavic peoples in general (even though I'm probably a bit biased--one-half of me happens to be Polish, Slovak, and Ukrainian, really can't help it). All in all, I've NEVER, ever, had any issues with anything Russian ever since.

    Mnogoya L'eta! God bless!

  • Beautiful song, sweet melody. I cannot at all understand why is there all this talk between this and Communism (no doubt the Soviet leaders probably used this song just for propaganda purposes during the 70 years they had Russia in their grip), but to you naysayers out there, two words: LIGHTEN UP. COMMUNISM IS DEAD IN MOST PARTS OF THE WORLD, AMEN.

  • Oh please, don't discuss about communism, because I can see from here that nobody knows a fuck about it.

Oh, and this video is about this beautiful song, not communism.

  • Unbelivable considering USA took part in World War I! Something that made many europeans grateful to USA.

  • Many Americans don't know and don't care what happens outside their world.

For example. I'm Swedish. And I often meet Americans who confuse Sweden with Switzerland.

  • @gekstrgmaicom Recent survey, most Americans don't know there was a World War I, even though they know about World War II. Honestly. I am Swedish-American. Also Swiss-American, on Father's side.

  • What the fuck does communism have to do with this song????

  • oh my goodness what is that thing (in the center obviously)

  • StopTheMoti0n: It is a bass balalaika. They come in different sizes like violins and guitars.

  • Just enjoy the great music, guys.

  • I love the instruments as well as the song.

  • Good song. I'm American and I hold no grudges against Russia. Our people, our cultures, may be different in many ways, and we probably disagree on a few things, or possibly many things. Doesn't mean we have to hate each other for it. That's the thing about being human, no two people think identically.

  • Now I find this very odd: here, in YouTube you people discuss about politics or history or whatever, but the point is that everything is happening HERE. I mean seriously, YOUTUBE! Don't you think you could find a better place to do that and leave this for.. umm, I don't know, maybe for comments about the video? Because this is why it is for, or am I wrong? :}

  • Another retard from United States.

  • racist -_-

  • Judging by his comment he is stupid and he sounds dumn. And he is from US. So what is wrong there in what I said? Again shows his lack of knowledge about other country's cultures.

  • Another retard from US means that you are implying many retards come from the USA which means that you are stereotyping people. XD

  • Well, an average American knows little about outside world. Thats a FACT.

  • That's because they have everything they need at their place. Sad fact. :(

  • So? I have everything I need. But even there yet I know that Europe is not a country. I have a teacher who said she went to US and when there was a TV she acted as though she didn't know what it was and Americans believed her LMAO.

  • You see. You only think about the bad things abroad. You all have nothing good to say.

  • I am with you!

  • Your knowledge is not contrast of the mainstream. Statistical and empirical data tell us that the people in USA are almost completely ignorant of the outside world.

By the way, you know the things you described, because it was taught to you for propaganda purposes only. Remember: COMMUNISM IS EVIL!! RUSSIA IS BAAD!

  • Communism wasn't just in Russia. We were unlucky to get that desise. It had good and bad comes with it. This system is far from perfect either.

  • You completely missed the point. I am "quoting" the propaganda that was shouted out in the USA during the Cold War. I thought I made it obvious?

  • sarn0 - you're a bigot. Russia is not bad. We didnt invent communism either. and this is not a political forum. shut up about politics and listen to the music. If you hate us so much then just dont look up Russian music.

  • I was being sarcastic.

  • It doesn't sound like from what you are saying.

  • actually yorue sorta wrong on that my friend. i am a russian, living in the US. and what you said i disagree with. the US does indeed care about other countries, and does know what goes on but is incorrect about a lot of things. the facts that are presented are often incorrect and favor towards the benefits for the states. and they "do" care they just donrt put enough effort into trying to help the other countries outside of the u.s....

  • @UndecidedRPGplayer

Certainly you idiots. Because Jews - seller and the religion has killed billions.

  • @dancecosmic I'm sorry... what was that? I didn't quite understand the second point you made. "Because Jews - seller and the religion has killed billions." What exactly was the point you were trying to make?

  • @UndecidedRPGplayer What do you know about the Club of Rome? Propaganda Due Masonic Lodge? Did you know that Queen Eliz. recently became a dame of the Pope? Did you know that the principle shareholders of BP are men, who were trained by jesuits? And the same company owns 10% of Halliburton?

  • @howtoplanaparty I knew about Queen Elizabeth becoming a dame of the Pope. I knew that most of the shareholders of BP are men who were trained by jesuits. The rest I did not know. I never claimed to know all; no person can. The amount of information in existence is infinitely expanding, therefore it is impossible to know everything. I am not the wisest person or the most worldly person, nor do I claim to be. There are still things I have to learn.

Why reply to a comment that was 2 years old?

  • You are an individual. You are not a country. When the whole government's policy is being dictated by selfsatisfactory, individuals just stop caring about the outside world. It's not the person - it's the mass.

  • This is familiar song from Ice Hockey matches. It´s played on occasion by electric organ, when short game break is whistled.

    This brings always good atmosphere!

  • thank our lord that russia is and always be.

  • -_- different than the other ethnic groups, but not much better.

  • The war happend over 60 years ago. Get over it.

  • The war happend over 60 years ago. Get over it.

  • i love love russia and the russian people

  • I second that- love to Russia!

  • Excellent! I've worshiped this song since I first heard it

  • This is beautiful - thank you! The famous vocal version with Boris Christoff used to be on Youtube but has been withdrawn - any chance you have a copy that can be posted?

  • I am sorry. I don't have that one.
