Avilakaj - As a Catholic, I believe in receiving Jesus @ Holy Communion during Mass. We as Catholics have what no other Protestants have - the sacriifice of the Mass. The Mass is a rememberance of Jesus's Last Supper. You should be tolerant of all religious differences.

Avilakaj... are you serious? Have you ever read the Bible? Open up your NIV or King James or whatever suits you... now look at John 6:30-68. Jesus refers to HIMSELF 7!! TIMES as "Bread from heaven", "The Bread of life", "the Bread of God", "the Bread that came down from heaven", "the Living Bread". If that isn't enough Jesus then goes on telling the people they must eat of this bread to have eternal life!!!! (John 6:51, John 6:53, John 6:54, John 6:58)......
Our God is not a piece of bread either but he makes Himself present through the celebration of the Eucharist. If He wasnt serois when He said "my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink" then why would almost everyone of His followers leave Him but not the Apostles and Disciples? He didnt elaborate further on the mystery as He usually did with scandalizing parables.
Avilakaj, Jesus broke the bread, gave it to his disciples and said "Take this and eat it, this IS my body which will be given up for you" he then took the cup and said "take this and drink from it this IS the blood of the new covenant which will be shared so that sins may be forgiven" then he said "Do this in memory of me".

The eucharist is a doctrin from the bottomless pit! It is not the real flesh or blood of Christ. When you are saying that you make Jesus look like a piece of bread. My Jesus is NOT a piece of bread. And He is not REAL in the monstrance. He sits with His Father in Heaven. This teaching is NOT from scripture. BUT the words of Christ tells us to REMEMBER what He did ONCE on the cross for every sinner!

Guys keep in mind that this video is 4 years old, and that picture is probably even longer than that. 5 years ago everyone was letting kids come around the alter for the Eucharistic prayer. Just look, he is deriving from what the liturgy prescribes. He has even criticised Catholic Tradition. He is convincing the youth in our Church of such things. He is encouraging liturgical abuses.
Is it the comment about boring music, art, etc.? If so, then I disagree. Living in a non-Catholic country, I dont always have a lot of churches to choose from . So sometimes I will end up going to a church where the music is awful, where the church looks like a lecturing hall, where the priest gives bad sermons, etc. So why do I endure such a boring experience on a given Sunday morning, well because of God. Everything else might be horrible, but the Eucharist is still the Eucharist.
Just for clarification, Fr. Stan does not perform these songs nor are they sung DURING mass. As EhJayJC said, Fr. Stan is extremely orthodox and reverent. Having worked with the CFRs and attending many masses with him, I can honestly say he's one of the most reverent priests I've ever met. Any images you see of him in a church are likely from a retreat or parish mission that he was a part of. God bless! =)
The church should not adjust to the people, the people should adjust to the church. Mass isn't a show or a concert. This also responds to EhJayJC. Rap is fine in its own setting which is NOT church. The organ and choirs were established for churches and thats the way it should remain. Not a band and especially not rap.
But what is wrong with differences in certain elements like music? The Catholic Church is Catholic "universal" encompassing all forms of culture and music. Now I know this is to a limit and your right that the Mass is not a show, it's the great sacrifice of Calvary made present and the family meal of God. Not at all! I'm not really a huge rap fan, but his lyrics are truly devout and fully Catholic. He had just come for a big youth event and while he was there we had Mass. I don't think I've seen many priests celebrate the Mass with as much reverence and devotion to Jesus in the Eucharist as when he was up at that altar.

Actually, I was in the Novus Ordo (even played guitar at the services in church for a number of years) until about 4 years ago when I discovered the true Mass. I had come to realize that there was something wrong back in the mid-90's when attending a Jesuit Univ. and being told that transubstantiation was no longer a belief of the Catholic Church by the head of the Theology dept. After finding the TLM and studying the issue I have come to know that what you see in this video isn't Catholic.
Daniellekay... no, I am not. I spent a few months going back and forth from the local indult mass to my Novus Ordo parrish. During that time I couldn't figure out how the two "Masses" could be of the same religion. So I found an independent Roman Catholic parish that offers the true mass 7 days a week.
Simply because some teachers of the faith, especially in prominent Catholic universities are heretical, that doesn't disqualify the entire Church. I totally understand what would lead you to make the decision you did, and looking out at the state of the Church at times people have to ask what went wrong. But the orthodoxy of the teachings of the Church has not changed, even if Her members are faulty and human.

But the problem is that the teachings of the Vatican II Church are not those of the Catholic Church. It goes beyond the universites right to the apostates who have called themselves Popes since John XXIII.
I'm no expert on traditionalist thinking. But the holiness and renewal our Popes have made in the past 30 years is incredible. John XXIII, John Paul I, Pope Benedict XVI, JOHN PAUL II FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Feel free to send me any information you like over my account and what teachings you feel have been dilluted or changed, but thousands and thousands of souls have bee brought to Jesus Christ through these years despite the many fallen aways. And I'm one of them.

wjweigand, I see just the opposite. We have many converts every month. Everyone can see their own style of music, you don't have a monopoly on music style. What is important is who we are.

In the Hebrew context, the word "memory" or "remebrance" literally means " to make a reality present. And, oh how it is. too bad that so many think that the bible was written in English with little numbers before each verse. Oh what a redemption we have! Avilakaj... are you serious? Have you ever read the Bible? Open up your NIV or King James or whatever suits you... now look at John 6:30-68. Jesus refers to HIMSELF 7!! TIMES as "Bread from heaven", "The Bread of life", "the Bread of God", "the Bread that came down from heaven", "the Living Bread". If that isn't enough Jesus then goes on telling the people they must eat of this bread to have eternal life!!!! (John 6:51, John 6:53, John 6:54, John 6:58)......

Our God is not a piece of bread either but he makes Himself present through the celebration of the Eucharist. If He wasnt serois when He said "my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink" then why would almost everyone of His followers leave Him but not the Apostles and Disciples? He didnt elaborate further on the mystery as He usually did with scandalizing parables.

The eucharist is a doctrin from the bottomless pit! It is not the real flesh or blood of Christ. When you are saying that you make Jesus look like a piece of bread. My Jesus is NOT a piece of bread. And He is not REAL in the monstrance. He sits with His Father in Heaven. This teaching is NOT from scripture. BUT the words of Christ tells us to REMEMBER what He did ONCE on the cross for every sinner!

As for the Holy Eucharist not having scriptural foundation, trust me, it does. I advise you to read Mt 26:26 and Mk 14:22

Guys keep in mind that this video is 4 years old, and that picture is probably even longer than that. 5 years ago everyone was letting kids come around the alter for the Eucharistic prayer. Its only been in the last 3 or 4 years that it has become a liturgical issue. Really, its not the end of the world.

Jesus spoke Latin, what's your point? Talk to any Good Holy priest about the Latin Mass, like fr. John Hardon. The Holy Father has said more than once that the litugical abuses today are a big part of the loss of faith today. In the latin Mass there is NO room for such abuses that we so often see in the new mass. Communion hosts falling onto the floor; homosexuals giving out communion, etc., etc., etc.,

Is it the comment about boring music, art, etc.? If so, then I disagree. Living in a non-Catholic country, I dont always have a lot of churches to choose from . So sometimes I will end up going to a church where the music is awful, where the church looks like a lecturing hall, where the priest gives bad sermons, etc. So why do I endure such a boring experience on a given Sunday morning, well because of God. Everything else might be horrible, but the Eucharist is still the Eucharist.

Just for clarification, Fr. Stan does not perform these songs nor are they sung DURING mass. As EhJayJC said, Fr. Stan is extremely orthodox and reverent. Having worked with the CFRs and attending many masses with him, I can honestly say he's one of the most reverent priests I've ever met. Any images you see of him in a church are likely from a retreat or parish mission that he was a part of. God bless! =)

The church should not adjust to the people, the people should adjust to the church. Mass isn't a show or a concert. This also responds to EhJayJC. Rap is fine in its own setting which is NOT church. The organ and choirs were established for churches and thats the way it should remain. Not a band and especially not rap.

But what is wrong with differences in certain elements like music? The Catholic Church is Catholic "universal" encompassing all forms of culture and music. Now I know this is to a limit and your right that the Mass is not a show, it's the great sacrifice of Calvary made present and the family meal of God. In the same way that the first Mass wasn't celebrated in Latin, the first Mass did not include an organ. Remember that David danced before the ark of the covenant.

Not at all! I'm not really a huge rap fan, but his lyrics are truly devout and fully Catholic. He had just come for a big youth event and while he was there we had Mass. I don't think I've seen many priests celebrate the Mass with as much reverence and devotion to Jesus in the Eucharist as when he was up at that altar.

Actually, I was in the Novus Ordo (even played guitar at the services in church for a number of years) until about 4 years ago when I discovered the true Mass. I had come to realize that there was something wrong back in the mid-90's when attending a Jesuit Univ. and being told that transubstantiation was no longer a belief of the Catholic Church by the head of the Theology dept. After finding the TLM and studying the issue I have come to know that what you see in this video isn't Catholic.

Daniellekay... no, I am not. I spent a few months going back and forth from the local indult mass to my Novus Ordo parrish. During that time I couldn't figure out how the two "Masses" could be of the same religion. So I found an independent Roman Catholic parish that offers the true mass 7 days a week.

Simply because some teachers of the faith, especially in prominent Catholic universities are heretical, that doesn't disqualify the entire Church. I totally understand what would lead you to make the decision you did, and looking out at the state of the Church at times people have to ask what went wrong. But the orthodoxy of the teachings of the Church has not changed, even if Her members are faulty and human.

But the problem is that the teachings of the Vatican II Church are not those of the Catholic Church. It goes beyond the universites right to the apostates who have called themselves Popes since John XXIII.

I'm no expert on traditionalist thinking. But the holiness and renewal our Popes have made in the past 30 years is incredible. John XXIII, John Paul I, Pope Benedict XVI, JOHN PAUL II FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Feel free to send me any information you like over my account and what teachings you feel have been dilluted or changed, but thousands and thousands of souls have bee brought to Jesus Christ through these years despite the many fallen aways. Look up the pew research study done last year. It showed that 1/10 of America is now fallen away Catholics who are now protestants or have no faith at all. Don't give me this nonsense about how all this "hip" sacriligious false worship is drawing people to the faith. Look up also the Index of Leading Catholic Idicators. The reason being is that they are attacked and don't have the answers. I know this because i almost did the same, but after studying Catholicis and learning the true faith and remembering small things like things said by Fr. Fortuna i have been able to hold on to my faith. I have a fundmentalist friend who left the church because he felt uncomfortable being attacked because he didn't know how to respond. It has nothing to do with Fr. Fortuna or anything "hip"

It sounds to me as though you've rejected some of the most vital and important theological voices of our time, which have urged us to be *in the world* but not of it--Bonhoeffer, Barth, the dearly departed Berrigan brothers, Dorothy Day, etc--a refusal of progress is in itself a heresy. Christ taught us to clothe the naked, visit the imprisoned, heal the sick, and cast out demons. Not to sit idly by and shout "sacrilege" at every turn as the Pharisees did.

Funny you should use the term "divorced" since the new Order false church has gotten rid of the 6th precept of the Church in their new phoney Catechism (btw...that's the precept that ALL Catholics must obey the rules of the Church regarding marraige) and now allows 60,000 Catholics to divorce in America alone per year. But hey, they had to get in line with the Anglicans and Lutherans who split away from Rome so that divorce and remarraige would be allowed rigth?

saw him in Australia as I was walking by after the Sydney Opera House performance. I was tired and didn't get to listen to him but I met a sister Miriam who was there. She is with the Sisters of Renewal for Life I think...went to St. Mary's Cathedral twice. It was awesome. I miss it.

did he say spirit Shalinna towards the beggining ?if so, the catholic women priests use that term for a femine name of the Holy Spirit. I'm sorry but just cause you stick a few "Catholic" ideas the style of this kind of song speak wears on the soul of the listener it is very low music and makes my spirit feel opressed i barely can hear what they are saying it's more about the drone of music that keeps looping it's almost demonic.

Agreed, this music has no place in the Liturgy.But this is great!FrStan has picked up one of the evil one's greatest tools & smacked him upside the head with it.He confronts sin in a hard hitting way without mincing words,exposes it's roots, gives hope,and exposes the young to parts of tradition(adoration,bells,Tantum Ergo,incense,prostration,etc.)Don't like it?Remember,many were opposed to the tactics of SAINT John Bosco.Could Fr Stan be a modern version?Praised be Jesus Christ, now &forever!

In the Hebrew context, the word "memory" or "remebrance" literally means " to make a reality present. And, oh how it is. too bad that so many think that the bible was written in English with little numbers before each verse. Oh what a redemption we have! What a privilege, like the two on the road to Emaus to know him in this most precious Sacrament.

I am a middle aged woman who has followed the radical career of Fr. Fortuna for the past 5 years. He engages the culture and youth in a powerful homage to St. Francis of Assisi.
I feel strongly Fr. Fortuna will be named a saint someday for his profoundly innovative proclamation of gospel values to a needy, hurting culture.

How can you influence someone commiting the same errors (sins) they are in????

Christ said once He's lift, He will attract everything to Him. So it is THAT what we need, forget about PROFANE "music" to try to convert people.

Fr. Stan is a very holy man and truly amazing. I encourage you to remove the fold from your own eyes and ears to see why he is beloved around the world by people of all ages, young AND old, for connecting to so many people and bringing them closer to Christ by his faithful example & ministry. He reaches them all because his focus is on the Lord & the truths of our faith! If you don't like the music, at least respect that many others are renewed & strengthened by his message Lk6:36-3 Phil4:13
