i believe it is supposed to be Sirius by Alan Parsons Project, a song used by MANY sports teams as entrance music most notably the Bulls back in the Jordan days
I enjoyed this game on the Super Nintendo. I didn't know there was an arcade version I have too say the graphics are good but the music sounds like crap.
The fights are this game's version of bringing out the chains. If the offense wins, it's 1st down. If the defense wins, it's whatever down it would otherwise be.
No idea about the cards, I think someone told me the game cabinet dispenses trading cards of NFL players?
@hayabusakun Thats not true about the fights because you will notice that the first fight here happens on an obvious first down and the defense wins and it was still a first down
I played this in the arcade back in the day..I won a football card for scoring on the first play..I got Jeff George who played for the Colts I think. The card came out of a slot on the arcade.

Now that I think about it you might be right. Maybe the first downs were just a coincidence when I played.

The endgame song is none other than "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye".

I think the whole fighting thing was just to make it more EXTREME....LOL as for the cards I have no idea what they were supposed to be for
neoflynn 2 years ago
@neoflynn
The football card dispenser was possibly a little promotional tool Midway attempted. Dunno how that fared.
