We don't have massive import/export relations with those countries for resources or goods that are vital to U.S. economic survival, which would be threatened by their internal, localized "mistakes". The only thing we currently export into those countries is war and a result, the only thing we import from them is violence and death. That is our "mistake", which does affect the world at large...and not in a good way.
