It is interesting how the music playback controls are at the bottom of the screen just like how in the iPhone it is at the bottom when you double tap to see how many apps you have opened. And this was before the update the iPhone got that gave those controls.

The answer cant really be answered. Apple are supposedly making a new iphone this summer, aswell as releasing the new OS. And as Palm pre is expected to be released in the summer too, I would wait until then.

Please don't compare the Pré to the iPhone, different animal, for different people.

I love both Palm and Apple, but for different things:

- iPhone is multimedia phone

- Seems like, Pré is a true business phone, like the very first Palm Pilot and its successors, geared to efficiency for business.

Does any of you iPhone owners use it for business? It's frustrating, made me switch back to Tréo.

I was starting to get desperate waiting for the next Treo, even considered Blueberry...

Don't be a stupid fanboy... this is no copy. What would be a copy for you? any touch screen GUI that comes after the iPhone?. I see a lot of differences and very innovative stuff, plus really important things like multi tasking, support for gestures, full external kbd. I own an iPhone and I'm already feeling obsolete. Apple will have a hard time to come up with something worthy

Dude, I own an Apple iphone 3G, and I hate to say this, but this new Palm has *A LOT* of features that the iphone lacks, even when jailbroken (mine is). When my contract with AT&T is up, and they offer this phone on AT&T or Verizon, I'll get this phone in a minute... based JUST on the simple things, like being able to have more than one app open and easily accessible with the whole "cards" feature. How can they be copying off of Apple when Apple lacks most of these features?? lol

Man I have an iphone 3G with the latest firmware (2.2) PLUS it's jailbroken, and I have to agree with you 100%... it doesn't compete with this new Palm Pre. After all these lame attempts at a "supposed" iphone killer (i.e. Blackberry storm, HTC, Voyager, Dare, Vu, etc), someone finally got it right. It won't be just Palm though - mark my words, ALL these features are just a sign of what's to come in the near future. I wonder if you can create files and folders on that beast?

copy/paste, mms, better processor, keyboard, multitasking, gestures, universal search, apps based on well known architecture like css, html and javascript, pulls info from many different resources, doc, etc. I guess there really is nothing that would make iphone users want to switch. ;)

Can't wait until this phone comes out. My contract ends with Sprint in a year, so this'll be a nice upgrade. It's pretty much an iPhone with a QWERTY keyboard. I also love the 'cards' function.
