Most bands today have like ONE good song and everything else is mediocre or sounds all the same. But the Black Keys are not most bands. They have so many damn good songs it's ridiculous. And they are so versatile its unbelievable, playing blues and rock songs that sound like they were taken straight out of the 60's or 80's and making them fresh like it's their own genre. All I'm saying is The Black Keys have a sound like I've never heard from any other band in the 21's century.

First, you gotta make a legit effort at getting into some of what she likes. Even if most is shit (and it may be) some of it may be good in its own right.

Hell, the Black Keys themselves say they don't listen to anything besides rap and blues (they even released a rap rock album- Blakroc).

Once you have an ear for what she likes, turn her onto your shit that you think she'll like.

Then have fun putting on songs in response to each others, n see if it don't lead somewhere good.

@anallydead help demonstrate the common roots of blues and hip hop/rap. I think an in-between of the Black Keys sound and hip hop lies somewhere with the Roots, who while hip hop artists, still use live musicians and are heavily influence by blues and jazz. Get her to appreciate a strong bass line or a distorted electric guitar and she'll be able to appreciate the Black Keys.
