I am a beginner dressage rider and I must say this is the most beautiful vid I have ever seen. To be able to capture the beauty of a horse in such a magical way. Its truly inspiring :)

@WarriorCatScourge I love this dicipline, but only when it is performed correctly. That's the only time when dressage is beautiful. Sadly, most of the top dressage riders use rollkur. :( So you should hate the rollkur method, not the dicipline itself.

Dressage is truly a beautiful, and magnificent equine disciplines, even though I barely know anything about dressage, but the only thing I do know about the discipline, is that it is in basically every discipline of riding. (: Dressage is a discipline of grace, beauty, control, and precision. Your video was lovely Ray, the music fitted it nicely and the editing was marvelous, job well done.

Mmmm! Beautiful! You did well on the tones for this one, it brought out much of the grace and balance of the horses. I see what you mean about the texture fitting the theme of the music, the whole things comes across mysterious and magical which I think is one way you could describe the connection between horse and rider. I think the dedication and skill of dressage riders is amazing, they make something os fiendishly difficult look like second nature! And the horses... just wow! Beautiful tribute, love the clip @ 1:04, the transition with the music was v.cool & similarly @ 1:31! You should do more of these =]

I sincerely don't know how you do it, Ray.EVERY.TIME. Couldn't take my eye peepers of the screen man! XD I adore watching dressage, it's the epitome of balance between horse and rider. I like that training is drawn out, and the riders generally take extremely intricate care of their horses. There's a saying that my mom told me, and it goes "If you work for your horse, your horse will work for you." and I respect about dressage riders. FABULOUS WORK RAY RAY!!! <3

Just a quick opinion question... is there anyone else who thinks there is too much bit contact in Dressage? I find horses who were Dressage participants are very hard to comunicate with via bit and Bridle.

Is there another way to give your cues?

but in saying that, it depends on how the horse is trained... some riders have very heavy hands and cause the horse to have a hard mouth... but some dont.. it basically all comes down to the training when it was young.

also, it may help to have its teeth looked at...

so are you saying there should be more leg cues? I know thats what we had to do with Markie. I can ride her with no head gear at all and get her to do the same things I want her to do. It was the only way, her mouth is so freaking hard.

@TakeItToTheMax5 if you say you can do everything on her with nothing but your legs, then she doesnt seem to need more cues. i would reccomend getting her teeth looked at...she sounds well trained

horses teeth grow non stop and just above the incisor (her front teeth) there are two teeth i call the bit teeth, and when they are long enough its easy for a horse to lock the bit infront of them. its a way of avoding the bit... i have a feeling that might be what she is doing...

no, the bits in place. It's just, before we got her, she was used in High end Dressage and Jumping. We had to re train her with Leg cues....

But I think we've gotten a little side tracked from my origional point. Are there others who think there is too much bit contact in Dressage?

If you are having trouble with a horses mouth, get the teeth looked at.

But no, I dont think there is too much bit contact with dressage... It was prob how she was trained.
