Nice collection of old time athletic APBTs. I get so tired of pointing out why a particular APBT is a purebred (see my Gypsy videos) because the public has this certain image of a "monster 22" head", cropped ears, etc. I think the BT Woods dog looks like an early Bull Terrier. :-) Great images.

well if u beleive fighting dogs is cruel ! do u think what the aspca does is humane putting pups and dogs that are not scarred up to sleep ,becuz they are confiscated from a dogfighter ? ! how come there wasnt a big stink made about the 2 peta employees who were caught dumping dead dog bodys ? why is it that if peta gets $28million dollars a year they cant rehabilitate this animals ? or start a study to try and understand how to train them ? at the end of the day they are DOGS(not people) !

i like this video ! it is a recollection of times of old and a when the breed was rarely known ! an we could go on about making sure the game stayed game ! it is very sad to see so much focus on dog fighting when there are bigger issues going on in the USA ! to apreciate a breed you have to apreciate its history becuz that history made the breed what it is today !

Props for the idea. Good to respect the past and the people who loved the breed. Because of them, our line of pits are what they are now. Amazing and best at what they do. I think it says alot about what kind of "sport" this is that the biggest group attracted to it now is rappers and thugs.  There's no place for "matching dogs" anymore - it belongs in the past.

What is this "real" pit bulls business, when there is no such breed as a pit bull? That term refers to several different breeds. Are you referring to when people first mixed powerful bull dogs with athletic terriers to get the pit bull terrier and they were generally a much smaller size back when they were first brought to America?

Well leightweight420 its just speculation because if you look at the history of the APBT they were here back in the early 15-1600s thats why there is no proof of mix the breed,there are painting of APBT dated back then thats why.

APBT don't go back that far - they were bred here from breeds that had come from England. That's why they are called the AMERICAN PBT. They date back to the 1800's, no earlier.
