I have an l96, and i love it. i can hit anything with it, despite it having a shorter barrel. The barrel lenghts on airsoft guns are not as important as on real guns, it just needs to be long enough to get the bb going straight. too long and it will slow the bb down due to friction.
To remove the bolt, you remove the trigger housing by pushing out the safety catch from the rail side. After the housing is gone, just slide the bolt all the way back and up.
to help you out here is a link were you can buy a rail attachment for it it should line p perect mine does. go to amazon. c om and type in UTG 5th Gen Quick Detachable Double Rail AK Side Mount
@gowhordslayer2011 barrel alignment. its trunnion only secures the barrel with three set screws and a single tooth. Dropping it might knock your barrel around. other than that you should be good man. its bare bones in design.
Alright, i was about to close the window then i saw the 240p,but i keep watching and i realy enjoyed it. Only means that video quality isnt what matters.
@Miguel192 no. the real SVD is a 7.62x54R, while the AK47/M series are 7.62x39mm. Entirel60y different magazine. Only compatible with SVD magazines from A&K. The newer V2 SVD's (just acquired one in a trade) come with 60 round midcaps, have subtle changes to construction and a reinforced trigger sear.
Thanks, now the 0.3 flies very far. I have't been able to try it in many defferent conditions, from my window it hops a bit to the left after 60m, that must be the wind, or just normal. thanks
@1985Mirabal pull back the bolt and adjust the small 1.5 or 2mm allen set screw on top of the chamber if im not mistaken. turn left until the hop is off, then shoot a round, see where it goes, turn twice to the right, shoot a round, twice to the right, shoot a round etc until you "walk" your rounds into place. If you do it right you should have a slight arc to the shot necessitating aiming towards the knees or lower at mid-range. this will allow you to hit targets at long range.
Great video man, I just had one question: I have the same A&K SVD, and it's the newest version I think, but my bolt is extremely difficult to pull back, so what does that mean? I'm 18 and strong enough, and I've seen videos of other people pulling the bolt back with no effort at all, so I was just wondering if there's something wrong with my spring, or if I just have to deal with it?
@picure the dragunov svd was introduced in 1963, while the AK74 was released almost ten years later. My mistake. It should take an AK47 or AKM bayonet, however the AK74 has a different pattern muzzle brake.
Even with a stiff bucking it's a bit unpredictable and disappointing. I don't bother with a scope much with my airsoft guns as I can pretty much see my bb fly 200 feet. This is my favorite gun next to my upgraded ak74.
I haven't read through all the comments but I'd thought I'd share my experience. I've got mine at 450fps with 0.2 and a 6.01 inner barrel. Hop up plain sucks, so I wouldn't worry about adjusting it much. Once I turn the hop up all the way off the bbs fly really predictably to 150-175 feet. I'm shooting .36.
Ok got this gun. Hop up is pretty bad. Since it's pretty tough to hit a target about 100 ft out, I can't recommend it. If the hop up worked it would be fine but it's too inconsistent. Every once in a while it will shoot straight then the next 7 shots will either go WAY left or WAY right. Using .25g bbs I can see the hop up isn't working as it should. The bbs aren't curving up even with the hop up turned all the way up. Just get a different gun, the looks aren't worth it.
@Ryth1900 the cyma mount like I said offsets your scope's centerline as its gauged for an AK reciever. If you rotate the drum on the bottom of the lock-lever pin after disengaging the lugs, you can tighten the clamp distance for the SVD rails.
To age it, use some fine grit sandpaper. remember that humidity on the exposed metal will start a rusting spree that will run rampant if unattended so regularly wipe it down with oil and store it in a warm dry place when possible.
Wen u say that u can removed the front sight and flash hider by removing the alen screw, do u just unscrew that hole piece once the screw is out. Mine seems pretty stuck so i want to know that ur suposed to unscrew it before u give it a good crank. And btw wat is under the flash hider and sight is it just a 14mm threaded barrel
@hatstalker newer ones are coming out with midcaps. my friend has it. the newer ones are a lot simpler, lighter and cheaper from what I can tell in a side by side comparison...
i own this my self but in black and i tecked it out tigh borre barrel nice spring and a new piston and a fiber opticz and it shoots fps of 550 with point 2s its nice but i think i know a guy who can make make the metal steel and im happy about of it
really nice review, you really know what you're talking about, i'm gonna get mine in the local store for $180 when i get the money -_- but i just love the SVD, yours looks so sexy lol
ill pay 200 dollars for that gun!

I tried mounting a AK74 Type 2 Bayonet. It does not fit! My SVD is the 2nd edition SVD and the bayonet lug is like 1mm too large for the bayonet.

@AssassinsGprods it may be superglued from the factory. gently twist it to see if you can break that weld.
no threads. the rifle is long enough as is....you dont need a suppressor.
