We should all just flip a piece a paper in the air (I would say typewriter but I know only 1 % of you guys know where your typewriters are) Anyway we should all flip a piece a paper out of our printers in memory of a man, a uberwriter, a legend.
@Dablkwid0w2008 I am glad I checked! According to Wikipedia it's right around the corner! February 5, 1941.
I will flip a piece of paper to this man. I felt he was like a friend to me and the rest of a generation. I'd always see him at the end of shows I was watching.
That man was a Legend.....or should I say that man IS a Legend! Legends NEVER DIE....They live on in out hearts forever! I was on Wikipedia and I was looking at the deaths from this past week and he was on that list and I was shocked. 69yrs old. RIP
In some of those he didn't look like he was really typing something, or maybe a really good idea came to him, was really exited about it that he typed for 9 hours straight and just remember that he had to go to the bathroom for the past 5 hours.
Nice! Although Steve Cannell used to scare the hell outta me when I was a little girl. The suspenseful music, the way he's banging away at that typwriter, the way he rips the paper outta that thing - he looks so evil! Yikes! The one from 1984 scared me the most.
I like the symbolism that is used. Notice how his office gets upgraded through each production logo with Emmy Awards and better furniture? Stephen J. Cannell paid his dues and was rewarded. Great post.
Hey Shane. I've got a great idea. Why don't you shut the fuck up and let everyone just enjoy the party. No one wants to hear ypour bullshit right now. Jesus fucking christ.
This logo always freaked me out when I was little, but Stephen J. Cannell produced a lot of great TV shows in the '80s and '90s. It's still good to see these logos again.
That man is a LEGEND! Seriouly it tkaes skill to take paper then throw it inot the air and make it land exactly onto a stack of papers lol. He possilby prints his scripts out through the computer printer nowadays. Curse you technology.
Steven is an amazing guy,he did a lengthy interview on Chicago radio a few years ago.Very articulate and funny,he said he is Dyslexic and has trouble transcribing his words.
I like the progression... the hairstyle changes, the clothes, the music, the awards, even Cannell's demeanor. He seems less stressed out and having more fun as the logos progress. A true sign that he succeeded.
bkizer99: I love your observation on the changes of clothing and demeanor that SJC expresses with each logo.
I agree with your thought that the fact he had succeeded in his production career lightened the stress load. Reflecting on Hollywood in the 2000's, who has a production company in this time period who has been able to turn out hit after hit on a continuously? That he and his collaborators took chances and have been able to last in this business certainly meant sweet success in the end.
i did had a nightmare on the music background, but back then i was afriad the guy on there would come towards me and hurt me or strange me to death if you think he doesn't reply to me and say it was an a halusionation, please!!!
Actually the logo after the first one which is actually from 1981 is from 1983 the 1984 logo just featured Stephen from the front and he isn't smoking a pipe then it is followed by the 1984-1987 logo.
There's a piece of my childhood if I never saw it.
