I donated blood for the first time in October and I'm going this Thurdsay.
The staff treats you like you're some kind of god, I got a free pencil with a little nurse on top of it as a thank you gift. It didn't hurt, all in all (from the paperwork to them making sure you're ok before lettign you go) it took about 30 minutes, max.
Seriously people, instead of spending your day on Facebook, go and donate life, it's a great feeling to know that you're gonna save someone's life :D
We had a blood drive at my school not too long ago but I couldn't donate because I'm on seizure medication and an epileptic.:( I want to donate but can't so please do it for me.
Check out my channel for my first time donating blood! i was of course dizzy but i apparently walked too fast and basically fainted.. it was terrifying, but i will still go again :D
To me it just feels fundamentally wrong. I get annoyed at work when these blood drive people come over and start asking people to donate blood in their van down by the river. I mean think about it..complete strangers coming to my work place asking to shove a needle in my arm and take my blood. Insanity. Also how can you trust the needles are clean, when they test the blood how you know they won't give a false positive. Not worth it
I donated blood yesterday and it went so much better than I had expected it. No pain at all and I'm planning to do it again :) you all should donate it feels great to do a good deed :)
I donate platelets. Can I donate platelets/plasma or whole blood and jack off at the same time? I can squeak the rubber ball with my right hand and masturbate with my left hand. I won't leave a mess or leave the chair sticky

Sorry but I'm not a fan of this ad, it makes out to people that them not giving blood makes them cold-hearted and feeling guilty. I think there is a better way of persuading people give blood.
i'll be 18 in may , and I've donated blood 3 week's ago , and i'm going to donate again and again. To all who heaven't donate " DO IT" it doesn't hurt and a few drops of your blood mean life for someone.
I'm the father of a two-year-old who has had 52 blood transfusions and will probably need such transfusions for the rest of her life, as she cannot produce red blood cells. So far, that's 52 cases of complete strangers saving her life.
So, to those of you that have given blood or have wanted and tried, even if you weren't allowed, I'd like to say "thank you".
@Cazbol i felt very sorry for you ... may god give strength both mentally and financially to you ... ur lil girl is the special one ..plz take care of her .. i will pray for her ...i donate blood regularly in 3 months
here is an excuse, how about because you cant because you had sex with a man 23 years ago! i understand safety screening for blood donors but the current measures in place are retarded. especially when you get banned from donating for the rest of your life if your a man who has had sex with another man even once since 1977. what about women? or women who have sex with gay or bi men? whats the diff? i hope no one dies because the FDA wont change the restrictions.
i have 22 years,i'm from Roumania and i want to donate blood but i can't because i have just 54 kg and 1,58 hight and they say that u must have 55kg. I think this is the biggest stupidness that i heard.I am really not skinny but I don't understand.I have to get fat to donate blood!?
they probably use standard sized "containers" which would make it difficult to take smaller measures of blood from you. you need a higher body mass for the same reason that big muscle-bound guys can drink more than shorter people without feeling the effects. if they take too much blood due to the fact you have a lower body mass you will feel the effects much faster and more intensely, risking a faint/fit etc situation, and it will not be nice. its a pity if you're totally willing :(
awesome.....................sometimes words are not necessary to express the views and after this i had joined one community also and that is helping hands for humanity..thanks and its really a good approach....well done...
This is absolute nonsence. I don't know why people are so ignorant on this topic.
There is plenty of blood free treatment that will have the exactly same effect as blood. But are many times cheaper. A simpel liquid of water with salt can be even more life saving then blood because even tested blood can have HIV( Wich might take moer than 6 months before showing on a test )
Ye sure donate blood. Then tehy will sell the blood you gave away and make big profit on it --
A In alot of countries blood transfusions are expensive. Maybe nto were you happend to live though.
B The hospitals have many times in the past selld blood to get money, we maybe don't actually give money but they sure get money by selling it overboards..
Sadly, I've been told because I have received blood after 1980, I can't give blood or anything else, it seems. So if it turned out I was the perfect match for someone, I can't give and they can't have. Sadly :(.
i've walked my bitch ass 3 times to the clinic and been deferred every time even though i have a steady girlfriend and we've been tested for all sti's.
Also....
I'm Canadian, and we have so much blood in storage we're selling it to America.
If they need my blood they can come to my door and i'll be happy to give it
Platelets are clotting factors. When you cut yourself, platlets form a blood clot to stop you from bleeding. Cancer and other diseases people have don't have platelets. Do a google search and it will tell you. Maybe the person who is impotent the nurse stuck in his peepee by accident.
Is it possible to sell blood? I probably wouldnt but theres a lot of people in financial difficulties sitting on a potentially untapped resource. Excuse the pun.
It may seem immoral but some people are in financial dire straits and any extra income could go a long way.
you can give plasma. They pay you for that. It goes to labatories and other research. It does not go to hospitals, only labs. Do a google search and type in your major city.
you know, some people don't give who should, but that's no reason to complain about everyone who doesn't. i'm about to give for the first time, and i admit that i'm truly scared. i've just never drawn so much blood in my life before. you can't deny that you were scared the first time.
I have always been wanting to give blood, but the doctor told me I shouldn't because of my low blood count. I was on my period for 6 weeks which made my blood count lower than half of the average person. But thanks to a blood transfusion, iron tablets, and taking the pill each night, I'm getting better.
Long story short, if it wasn't for blood doners I'd probably stay ill and eventually die from loss of blood. Whoever gives blood is doing a brilliant thing, and I love them for it.
what happens if you have no arms? someone said an old man didn't have arms and they stuck the needle in his dick. He's been donating for 5 months now.
this is a much better advert! i have complained several times to the scottish advert people for their campaings as they are soo depressing and off putting that it puts me off. this on the other hand is a great advert! good work!
if u dont give blood a person can die nd also wat happened if one of ur family oe friends died because of this u wud regret it so wen im olda im goin to give blood oo nd wen i die they can have my kidneys nd wateva body parts for i think its important for others =)
I'm 18 going on 19. A friend of mine told me that the IPO in Lisbon (hospital for those who suffer from cancer, in Lisbon - Portugal) was really in need of blood. I went there, after school in my way home and it was so quickly... I got home feeling really great... and it doesnt even hurt or anything.
I'm sorry for the bad english. I just wanna share my experience with those who want to start giving blood.
healthy adults can donate blood every 8 weeks, platelets 24 times per year, and plasma once a month. Have you saved a life lately? donating blood only takes approx 30 minutes from start to finish. You can do it on your lunch break even

That's not good! I dont really know what platelets are but potency is largely down to a good flow of oxygen in the blood so it must of affected that.
