I didin't knew that white people love berber musique that's great to see that :)) it's cool but why do they love only our music and our food and not us?
What are their names? I love them I am a music promoter right here in Los Angeles promoting the best music in the world. Peace see YMN on Facebook. Fan Page
They are amazing and so real. @truthfulfox@maxip123@mnkuria59: they are Touareg, so they are nomadic by nature. Nationality does not mean anything to them, that's what their whole movement is about. If you watch their documentaries, you will find that they grew up in Southern Algeria and moved into NorthEast Mali later. To them, it is all the same land, the desert.
They are from Mali. Can we move on now? Tourages are Nomads which means they are spread over a wide geo-political zone that does not respect national boundaries. I don't even see how their nationality is an issue.
May the spirit of Nomadic peoples everywhere be uplifted & awakened in our distant memories, to be held with the respect and spirit that is its due. So long as freedom is held sacred in all hearts & souls.
"Tinariwen" is the plural of "Ténéré" and the word "Ténéré" means desert but not only desert, also "country" or "countryside" the group has being together since 1979 and were living in Tamanrasset in the south of algeria. then after a complex sequence of events they came back to mali to fight a rebellion in 1990.
@djaniralx The Touareg are "Berbers", yaani Imazighen. They have different culture from the Kabyle and other Berber groups, but they speak related languages.
@quaggaxp yes the are berberes, and they call therselfs IMOSHAGH , OUI nous somme berbers ,nous nous appellons IMOCHAGH pluriel de AMACHIGH au feminin TAMACHEQ (Q comme en arabe un K enfentain c'est (GH +T =Q) autres questions: alehs.agnaw@gmail.com salut a tous les berberes depuis Timyaouine - Algerie

does it really matter what race they are, race and language is the last thing to argue about, the world is dying and we all need to help, any color, any country!
This music is uplifting and thoughtful, can anyone put a translation on here for me please?

yeah but in this case they are berbers from the amazigh(imazighen) people....i don t now what you considder a berber...but it does nt mean somebody from the desert..
Tamazight is a member of the Afro-Asiatic language family (formerly called Hamito-Semitic). Traditional genealogists of tribes claiming Arab origin often claimed that Berbers were Arabs that immigrated from Yemen. Some of them considered Tamazight to derive from Arabic. This view, however, is rejected by linguists, who regard Semitic and Berber as two separate branches of Afro-Asiatic...I considder a berber all the afro-Asiatic people included Somalis.

Is Tamazight considered to by related to Punic, the ancient language of Carthage and the native tongue of Hannibal and Augustine? Whatever its origin, Tamazight no doubt has extensive Arabic word-borrowings and possibly grammatical influence.
