In a serious accident, if you do survive, they often trap you, and if your car catches on fire.....or, they may pin you to your seat after a particularly fast head-on collision, in which case you may get crushed to your front seat. Or if your car flips and you are still strapped in....you`ll be crushed as the roof caves in.

If you "get crushed as the roof caves in" because your car is rolling, not wearing a seat belt wouldn't have made any difference in your survival chances. Not wearing a seat belt would've just resulted in you being thrown throughout the car while it rolled, with an even greater ending result of death.
