  • Yo dawg, we heard you like counters, so we recountered your counter so you can counter while you counter.

  • how to finish him if he counters not by gripping his gi,what if he counters with kimura also?

  • Quick! Grab your belt!! Thats a good Kimura defense if it gets that far.

  • den he counters your counter counter and then youll have to learn how to counter his counter counter counter then he will counter your counter counter counter then youll have to learn how to counter his counter counter counter counter

  • @AsianStyled so basicly you should COUNTER STRIKE:)

  • Where u train at bro

  • Your videos are awsome. Ive been practicing more on the finess of the simple moves and positioning, and these videos have helped correct and fine tune my game. thank you very much.

  • where is the gaurd and u didnt show how to get out of the lock even tho i knw already

  • Very effective! Thanks for the info.

  • im so doing that to my friends xD

  • great video, also love the apps so keep them coming

  • This is very simple but very effective and practical advice... I actually used this principle to sub a BJJ Brown Belt at a tournament. Thanks for video +1

  • Wow, I had an opponent in this very position last night and didn't realize I could execute this submission from half-guard. Had I known the outcome would have been different.

  • im telling you a great re-counter would be the x-lock

  • Does anyone know the other counter to the Kimora. I was show a keylock applied to the guy on the bottom when he tried to kimora you.

  • I think youre reffering to following: as he goes for kimura guy in black gi would step forward with left leg, having his hand attached to his own leg.. you now get more on top of him and change leverage dynamics... you lift and twist your arms (use double hand grip)... and you create a shoulder break on guy on bottom... Hard to explain with words...

  • i know the one you mean. damian maia shows it on his counter attack dvd

  • Great details, I"m going to try it.

  • is he trapping the guys leg? i can't see from that pov. but the guy can roll out of it if he doesn't trap the leg

  • it says in the title "half guard"

  • @frankenstein01 yeah, it looks like he's in side control. i can't say for sure though.

  • @frankenstein01 he is in half guard, you can't see it well though

  • @frankenstein01 the blue dude is on half guard ...... wtf dude half guard means he cant control all the out comes and cant block them all...

  • He could also tuck his head and flip over for a counter.

  • Watch some Fedor vids to see how this is done right. To defend against this technique grap your own shorts with your left hand, and turn over to your left If opponent tries the technique from behind, stand before he gets his hands in place. Try it it works

  • What does Kimura mean? And what language is it? In Judo we call this Ude-garami (Entangled Armlock)

  • It's the name of the man who taught it to Helio Gracie. Keylock or ude-garami are the proper names for the kimura, even in BJJ

  • Kimura defeated Mr. Gracie with ude-garami Kimura learned it at the Kodokan in Japan

  • Kimura defeated Helio Gracie (a younger stronger and bigger kimura) He used the shoulder lock on Gracie to win, and in his honour BJJ Practitioners have named the move after him...

  • Go Judo!

  • @choochoogoesit Ju-jistu you mean

  • @ARandomCanadian Kimura is a Judo move. Ask anyone.

  • @choochoogoesit no it is ju jitsu

  • @strika008 I'm sure you bothered to look it up. So never mind. I'M WRONG.

  • @Tino13

He was only 4 years younger.

Isn't the essence of BJJ to be able to beat bigger, stronger guys?

  • @Tino13 Kimura never * beat * helio with the kimura, he broke his arm and the gracie had to throw in the towel. and the move was named after kimura because he invented it, it had nothing to do with BJJ practioniers

  • @mmarantha that's not true, he didn't invented it. "Kimura" is known in judo as "ude-garami".

In BJJ it's called "Kimura" in Masahiko Kimura's honour.

  • making them feel safe is a very good technique. The other day when sparring I was going for an armbar and had full control of my oppenent's body. He fought back holding his arm, I loosened grip and he stopped tensing his arms. I then swnug my leg over while grabbing his other arm and lcoked in a inverted armbar forcing him to tap

  • Nice!

  • Somebody will deff. fall for it. If ya got a stronger fucker on ya tuggin' he'll deff. rip is out.

  • great vid. i found myself in this exact situation the other day and didn't know what to do, so just let go and tried something else. i'll give this a try

  • Hey if the guy is adamantly hold onto his pant legs, couldn't you try for a guillotine choke?

  • A bit risky, don't you think?

  • COOL!

  • such a silly video. Nobody above a white belt would get caught with that counter.

  • Says you. BJJ is all about counters and distraction. Making someone feel they are safe works against all belt and skill levels.

  • actually i train with guys above a white belt and who have been doing it for years and i get various submissions on them including this all the time it has nothing to do with how long its all about set up

  • Kestling rocks man, all his stuff is well structured. Starts with the basics and works up, always emphasising da details. Wicked work.

  • Thanks for the cool tip!

  • Haha, I hope the guys I roll with don't see this because I always grab my pant leg like that and it seems to work most of the time.

  • good stuff

  • coo coo

  • awesome?? where is the secret? it don't work? how can a guy think he is out of trouble when you still have the lock on him?? maybe a white belt...geez....yawn...

  • yeah this guy is so silly, i always see video's of him demonstrated stupid things, he has this website where he talks about the new techniques he's inventing, they're just so silly.

  • very nice

  • ya thats good stuff

  • awesome
