A life preserver would come in handy right about now. Really, I'm just trying to get mentally geared up for all of this weight loss stuff again. I needed to step away for awhile. :0)
Thanks Mike, I'm pretty thankful that I actually ENJOY walking. My next little project will be to make it to a state park that's about seven miles away...if I do it I'll try to make a video. Have a great weekend!
Thank you, I would be far too lazy to lug around a camera if it weren't one of those little Flip camcorder contraptions. It's tiny!I promise to keep on walking the hills. I can hardly avoid it over here. :0)
Thanks. I don't blame you for not wanting to go alone...it probably isn't the best idea for me to do it either, but it's just so darn peaceful when the streets are all empty. Hope your doing well!
Kirkland is so pretty. I always think of it as this far away suburb, but it is pretty :D I'm glad you like the weather here! Adam and I have been trying to get together for like two months - we should all try and get together some time and make a video - it would be hilarious and really fun :P
Thanks!I'm glad to be here too. Kirkland reminds me of a cute little resort town, and I love that I can hop on a bus and be in Downtown Seattle in less than a half hour! It really would be fun to meet up.
Angie, that is fantastic ! you look so great ! and the weather is not so hot !! woaw !! Lucky you. you're doing a very good job ! Maintaining absolutely not bad, sometimes is even necessary, for our body, of not for a rest of the mind. it is also a check point to see if you are assimilating good habits. Keep it up! I envy you with the work out !!!(*cries*)
I agree that maintenance is a good rest for the body and mind. I'm sorry it is so hot where you are! I remember in Detroit how the weather would just drain all of my energy. Hey, do you have air conditioning that you can run all the time? I say the electric bill is well worth it.
Thank-you! Are you near Seattle as well? I'm loving it here, although I haven't experienced a WA winter yet. It has to be loads better than a Detroit deep freeze though. :0)
The weather has been pretty gloomy up here too... nothing like running in the rain in July/August- ahh the Pacific Northwest. Cool vid and good job on getting out and walking.
Hi! Heck No! I've been a full fledged Washington resident since March 30th. I moved out here kind of suddenly (extremely suddenly) after my ten year relationship ended. Needless to say...there have been some major changes in my life over the past year or so. :0)
So, there seems to be at least five of us in the Seattle area. We could have a real group meet up out here. I think it would be fun.
who else lives in seattle? the only one i know of is antishay and now you. i think washington is the most beautiful place ever. colorado comes in at a close second.
Ok...there's me, you, antishay, alifelessboring, and skinnymeredith. I guess none of us really knows one another all that well yet, but it's still cool...lol.
You talk about a vampire-- I do all my walking in my house (treadmill), because night or day, I'm too embarrassed to exercise outside, hahaha. But it sounds like you get a very pretty view on your walk! I'm close to San Francisco, and it would be kinda nice if I could see it or the golden gate from here, but its just out of view...
LOL...if I owned a treadmill I would be in danger of becoming a total recluse! I so understand how you feel. I keep waiting to get into better shape before I join any of the classes at my gym. I don't want to be the only one jiggling around out there. :0)
Hey we're neighbors! I'm a bit north of Seattle. It's funny -- I'd say this summer has been hot and sunny (except for today). I guess it's all relative. Great job on keeping active!
Oh hi there Meredith! I saw a couple of your videos, but haven't gotten around to welcoming you to the group yet.
I just moved here from Detroit a few months ago. It's very hot and humid here, so this summer has been a huge relief for me. I do love it here. I'm still learning my way around, and it's nice to meet a neighbor. :0)
You are welcome. I'm glad I can be at least a little funny...I take this weight stuff too seriously sometimes. Yeah, check out the books if you get a chance, they have been really helpful.
Thank-you! I do think I am getting my healthy pink cheekiness back. I would like to see a video from you before too long though. It'll be good for my general well being. :0)
It's really weird and exhilarating doing vampire workouts. I've recently been bike riding and running at night (like 12 AM), and while it's not the smartest thing to do, it's more peaceful and enjoyable. I guess if I get stabbed, it'll be doing something beneficial, LOL.
I really enjoy hearing from you, Angie. I wish you'd do more regular updates!
Hi Sarsy! Yeah, there is something exhilarating about a late night/early morning workout. I feel like the whole city is mine or something, and I like to linger and check out all the little nooks and crannies in a way I wouldn't during the day. As for being stabbed, riding your bike should make you much less of an easy target!
I am doing OK made a new video with my new camera :) started weight watchers today doing it on my own so we will see how it goes need to get this eating under control. thanks for asking and again your looking good. Angie
Hi angie; in my last video i talked about a weight loss memior that i am reading it is called "half-assed" by janette fulda; it is a great book i have also read confessions of a carb queen too and that was a good book also!
Hi, I just read Half Assed too! There is a blogged interview between Jenette Fulda and the girl that wrote the Dirt Girl book on the pastaqueen cite. I loved here sense of humour, and she kept me laughing through the whole book. Now I want to try kick boxing too. :0)
I think you're doing great, especially for having pulled yourself out of that funk! I used to do vampire walks HAH they're great in the summer especially for escaping the dreaded heat during the day! Thanks for dropping by!
Thank-you! I started those vampire walks last summer to escape some of the heat. It didn't take me long to notice how beautiful dawn is though too. Now it's my favorite time of day. :0)
I wish the camera would have picked up the view a bit better, but I'm glad you liked it! It is just so beauiful here with all the green and mountains. I really am happy to maintain for awhile. I think it will help me to learn how a "regular" person eats on a daily basis. I don't think I've ever done that! Hope you are well. ((Hugs))
WHO-Ha!! My Angie girl!!! You look so pretty, bright eyed, and bushy tailed! Just keep truckin sweetie. ALL this is part of the process. You are doing just fine! Lovey dovey!
Thank-you sweet Sheree! I've been working on readjusting my schedule so that I can be an early bird again. Structure was how I started all of this, so I'm trying to get back to that. I totally see it as an important step. It's just plain good for me to have a schedule. Love ya!
I have spoken about that very thing on my blog. I too need routine, habitual behaviors, and schedules. I have to have STRUCTURE big time. "Freewheelin" just doesn't cut it for me either. Have a great weekend lovely duckie!
Sometimes when your going thru a rough patch you just have to tie a knot and hang on! Celebrate the smallest victories. You will find your mojo again i know you will. Its kind of like me and exercising this summer in the 100 degree temps. Its been awful ,so i dont' expect to make alot of progress this summer i just gotta hang on and not give up and come fall and cooler temps LOOK OUT! Your looking good girl. Keep your chin up. Jinx
Thanks Jinx! I always love your comments. The metaphor of tieing a knot and hanging on is perfect for how I have been feeling with the weight. It's good practice for maintenance someday right? And yeah, I can't blame you for not wanting to exercise too much in 100 degree temps...ugh, I took like three showers a day last summer.
geez girl, you really do look great. So healthy! Great job on the walking, I think I should do vampire walking as well, sounds like alot of fun, can do it with hubby in the evening, makes it that much more fun :D
I've always had the best ever conversations while walking. So, I hope you and hubby enjoy that time together! Also, thanks for saying I look healthy. I agree that the increased calories are agreeing with me. :0)
Thank you for your comment on my last video. I just realized I never responded. I'm a vampire walker too. Its so peaceful and there's no one out to see me struggle up a hill. Glad you're doing well with your exercise, getting back on track with food will follow. Kirkland sounds just as hilly as the Bay Area.
I remember some SERIOUS hills in San Francisco! I think that if I didn't live in WA my second choice would be the Bay Area. Those vampire walks are what got me started. I remember only being able to go once around the block. It's good to know there are good people out there doing the same stuff I am.
you look great. very healthy. maintaining is great i did for 2 years i needed a break. when you are ready the eating will even out. don't stop moving ever.
i worked out in the cemetery for months before going in public and now because it's too flippin hot i'm inside kettlebelling it. you actually got me interested in kettles. it's a perfect workout for the ADD person lol
Hi Ms. Zurple! I have been missing my kettlebell. It was actually a pretty fun workout. Partly, it's the slow pace of lifting weights that I don't care for, so the bells are a good option. LOL...your probably already at the festival? Hope you had fun.
I lost over 50lbs at one time doing the whole vampire walking thing. I hated walking in the daylight...lol I have no choice but to start walking in the day now starting Monday. A gf of mine and her friend are my new walking buddies and we'll be going about 3x a week at around 5pm, during rush hour ....grrr At least they'll keep me honest ;) It's so nice to see you making videos again. I've missed you. There are so many of us that have come out of the woodworks recently and its very exciting! :)
Hi Kat, that is wonderful that you have walking buddies. I would love that, and I think it would make all the difference in the world. It's just more fun with people ya know? Most of my walks are alone. I looked into a walking group, but it was only for 50+ ladies...lol. Don't worry too much about the rush hour, your beautiful!
This is all new to me. I haven't even started with them yet, but I will this next week for sure. I haven't walked all this time because I've been afraid to walk alone here. It's not a safe area, so I've avoided it...but with people, it should be good. Thanks for your constant burst of self esteem that you always give me :) You are awesome Angie.
You should come down here to TX, it has been around 105 for the last couple of weeks. Man, I hate living here. Maybe I'll come up there one of these days & hang out with you, Shanti, & Adam, & who ever else is in the area. That would be so cool.
That would be so cool. There have been a few g2c member meet ups that I'm aware of. Hey, who is Shanti? As for moving to Texas, now that I've seen what a Washington summer is like I doubt I'll leave willingly.
Haha, I don't blame you. I'm out of here the first chance I get. Shanti is antishay here on YT. If you can't find her I'll email you her channel link.
Vampire walks sound wonderful! Back in high school my best friend and I loved being at the park really late at night or really early in the morning. It's the best time to be there. And it's cooler! I've always wanted to live in Washington. Do you love it?
Yes! I absolutely LOVE walking when there's virtually nobody around. Very peaceful, and it's like you have a whole city's worth of space to think.
