  • this is called wrestling plus you guys sucks its all wrong

  • They show nothing about how to finish it when ur opponent starts to hop with his free leg.

  • there's no "right time" for this single.

side not: i wrestle with cornell, we've taken second at D1 nationals for the last two years running...

  • WRONG!!!!

  • Worst take down I've ever seen you guys should be banned from youtube for the crap your posting!

  • every single one of expertvillage's videos SUCK

  • not very informative

  • Why is it that expert village utilizes the most untrained and uninformed people to demonstrate things that steer people in the the wrong direction?

This should be called beginner village.

  • And the white guy gets owned again.

  • 1) it looks like he fell on purpose

    2) your suppose to swing that leg to the side instead of tackling it head on

    3) grip on leg is wrong

  • lmao, im a first year wrestler and do a better single leg than that

  • rofl, people at out club do it better after 10min of training

  • He's... he's just the worst instructor ever, I mean after seeing his other video's I really think this guy is a joke. Now I don't say that out of animosity or strife I truly think this guy is 100% fake.

  • haahahahha

  • Thats not a single leg take down more like a crash tackle or dive.

  • at 0.40 it looks like they r doing it

  • At 0.50 it looks like your a fag

  • WTF That looked so fucking gay LOLOLOL

  • That was horrible

  • hugging someone's calf and leaning on their shin is not a single leg takedown.

  • agreed

  • that was fucking terrible, damn these coaches suck

  • i did wrestling and used karate leg sweep and everytime some guy tried to take me down i pin'd him.

  • first off you can circle or sprawl to avoid the takedown..secondly yeah it'd be hard to punch him while he goes for it but you wouldnt neccesarily have to hit him in the head if you stuck him with a quick uppercut

  • you could easily reverse that and get back control

  • everything can be countered. all moves have to be used at the right time to be successful. same thing with counters. they have to be timed right to be successful.

  • u right man

  • what the hell it wasnt even a takedown the dude just fell. the bad thing with these videos is the guy gettin taking down never trys to break lose or tries to put up a brick wall so we can see what the obstacle may be when we try it. these video's always the samething i got your leg the dude falls without resistant and thats it

  • do u wrestle? unless u move b4 he is on your leg, ur going down. sprawl first or go down.

  • well i don't know, but i could never get that one down correct, if my opponent knows just a little of whats his doin he would block that one..

but hey, i'm no expert (lol)

  • its was better in real time, but if some one had their hips lower waiting for it, it would not work

  • 0:35 if that was me trying to be taken down i would of punched that dude in his head of kick him with my other knee to his face

  • THough these guys suck, your comments are stupid. Every guy thinks "OH I COULD JUST PUNCH YOU HERE" while looking at a guy doing a move slowly. At full speed you're not punching shit. Even if you would punch, there will be no power to that punch as your hips won't be used in it. Let's say you STILL get punched HARD you'll be punching him in the head, the hardest part of the body, you're breaking your hand.

  • bout time somebody said this.. these little hard asses on here say.. " ohh i would just punch him" they would be on their back so fast..

  • he is demonstrating it slowly.. i can guarantee you if an experienced wrestler did this to you, you would be on your back... but keep dreaming if you want

  • No experienced wrestler would ever shoot an outside single like this.

  • that looked gay laughing

  • thats the worst looking single leg ive ever seen

  • @Shell1725 thats a Judo single not a wrestling single

  • @TheJudoka93 let me know when u take someone down how u just showed that

  • @TheJudoka93 PLEASE END UR YOUTUBE VIDEOS THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND MISINFORM NEW GRAPPLERS

  • i love singles to doubles..

  • Thats not an effective single, you guys are fuckin retarted and obviously have no grappling experience

  • im posting my new pics

  • seems very simple to do

remember that in a real fighting situation is very hard to do a single leg sweep

  • well this movemets would be REALLY usefull against a guy who doesnt know anything of ground fighting

  • i totally agree. I think this is a fantastic technique if used in self defence against an untrained attacker. It gets you into side control and you can knee and elbow at will, or attempt subs. But if you try this against a good mma/bjj fighter you are vulnerable to counters.

  • yes , because mma , bjj , or other submission style fighters use to put both legs in the same line to have some good base

but most people put one leg ahead of the other

well , my english is a really shit , i hope you can understand what y said

  • I agree. If you perform a single leg attempt in this horrible manner, there are so many easy counters (e.g. open sprawl) since you are pretty much attacking your opponent head-on with minimal effect on his balance. Worst case scenario, you just set yourself up to get guillotine choked or even Peruvian neck-tied by your opponent. Your head needs to be on the outside of your opponent (giving you much greater power and variance of side-twisting your opponent to the mat).

  • if ur opponent knows peruvian neck-ties and guillotines properly, it may not be a good idea to do a single leg without a jab straight combo first

  • Yeah, head on the outside for a single ... makes a lot of sense.

Wait, no, it's exactly the wrong way to do it, and puts you at much more risk for a guillotine or crucifix.

Head outside for a double, inside for a single.

  • If you're performing an active single-leg takedown, there's no risk of a guillotine counter. If anything, it'll only make your single-leg takedown easier (landing you in half-guard). As for a crucifix counter, yeah...if you have an extremely weak (i.e. as a baby) grip. Good luck trying to pull an opponent's already secured single-leg grip from over his back (not gonna happen).

It may be possible if your opponent is wearing a gi, but then...how many street thugs you know wear gis? Lawl!

  • simple, straight to the point. Thx!

  • about time someone made a vid that made sense.
