  • Ah, 240p, we meet again....

  • Emilie looks like a doll ^. ^

  • i am a virgin

  • Your worng, Emilie, your my role model. Your my Hero.

  • I imagined her voice to be much higher at first...

  • @littlebluridinghood. Just be yourself, if ppl don't except you, that's THEIR problem. Marilyn Manson taught me that. ^_^

  • @huntershank its not that i just hate people staring at me or giving me a lot of attention lol. i get enough of it with blue hair lol.

  • Emilie Autumn is HAWTTTT. No... hot is over used.... she is beautiful. I only know 3 other people from America who like her. I am from America... she's right... WAY to diverse.

  • shes so right harldy anyone here in america even knows who emilie autumn is and doesnt understand her type of music

  • She has the most adorable overbight. :D

  • "Da cat's are like meow!" Any one know why she said that? XD All i know is it's epic lmao.

  • @XxNuthouseGirlxX it's "die katze macht miau", that's german... i don't think there's much sense behind it, the interviewer just wanted her to say some stupid sentence in german ;)

  • @Shelmydalin Ohhhh okay hehe that makes much more sense now! Lol :3 Thankies. Well now know how to say "die katze macht miau" in German...just make it sound like your saying "Da cat's are like meow!" XD

  • @Shelmydalin Ohh and i looked it up on google translate..."die katze macht miau" Means "makes the cat meow" :D so i was right in a different language basically! ;)

  • @XxNuthouseGirlxX She said: "Die Katze macht meow!" (:

  • BUT SHES MY ROLE MODEL!!!!

  • @neonrocker4life Mine too...

  • well im american and i love Emilie Autumn and im into the goth subculture : ) so everything all good.

  • all i heard was 'schnitzel Emilie Autumn schnitzel schnitzel'

    Emile looks gorgeous <3

  • Die Katze macht MIAU

    how beautiful *-*

    i love her so much

it's so great to listen to her every day ♥

  • i have no idea how i had no idea that Emilie Autumn existed, but now that I know that she does, I will tell everyone until I am out of breath to do so with, and after that, I will be writing about it.

  • @bubblegumpopprdctns yes! promote her! i can't believe i was in the dark about it for so long! word of mouth makes things happen ppl!

  • She is much more well spoken and knowledgeable than I would have thought. Or maybe I should say she's a lot more humble and involved with her work than I thought she would be. I dunno why I got that other impression just from her music, which I love x.x

  • she just needs promotion and word of mouth in america. i just discovered her and i love her already!

  • Die Katze macht Miau, that made me smile^_\\ She's really insperational to me!

  • i didn't even know of her existence until a few days ago and she is already very inspirational to me she is also an amazing speaker and artist i will enjoy continuing to listen to her music

  • if people wouldnt stare at me id probly have my hair like hers lol

  • i like japan cuz gothic lolitas can walk around in the day time an no one looks at them werd

  • @jinxhiof24633

Sadly this is not true, or as far as I know. A lot of the girls and bpys in Japan who dresses in the different J-fashions often hide it from their parrents due to Japan being so bound to traditions. A lot of girl hide their "hobby" in their school bags and change cloth when they get of school and most of them usually wear their favorit J-fashion style dyring Sundays in Harajuku and places like that. This have been told to me by a friend who is currently living there :)

  • @popze si i for got japan was still under that tradition thing b cuz they are so advanced

  • @jinxhiof24633 i live in japan, and trust me, people DO give you weird, disturbed looks. don't idealize it here.

  • Us europeans are the crazyest, shame im in Australia now.

  • i need to move to Europe.

  • @thatcrazyfreakchick what for?

  • @thatcrazyfreakchick no you really dont'......:/

  • They all have such beautiful clothes.... I want! *-*

  • Sagt sie da am Anfang "Die Katze macht Miau?!" xDD

  • Jesus i love her that all nuff fucking said!

  • @aceworld2 she came to montreal feb 15th

  • Leave it to the germans to want to compare Amaerica to Europe. hahaha It is no suprise that it's like the first question. She is correct about the the Gothiness and such, however.

Who CARES about all that right now though! The biggest mission at the moment is to SPREAD THE PLAGUE!! America simply needs to STEP IT UP.

  • I live in America and barely anyone goes to her concerts hear. I lover her though.

  • EA is so amazing!

  • EA is so amazing!

  • They locked HER up, but Glenn Beck walks free. Upside down world...

  • the american populace is very shallow and only really likes what others like what is famoues is more important that good for sure.

I play in band and know what she is trying NOT TO SAY LOL

  • .....................what's the question?

  • What a pretentious idiot she is. I've tried to like her, but I just can't. Something about her just irritates me immensely. Unless she's a really good troll. There doesn't seem to be anything to her beyond her 'image'.

  • @Kainlarsen she is sure as hell not an idiot. But you can go ahead and not like her. No problem. But idiot....no lol

  • @Kainlarsen also, have you tried the 2010 interview? look more into it. She has a point....if you dont get it...Im sorry your cant comprehend into anything, that well

  • @Fefefoth Are you being hostile to me simply for expressing my opinion?

I haven't attacked you, I simply said that I am unimpressed by her. I'm sorry that you "can't comprehend into anything", as you say. What kind of English is that??

If she didn't dress as she dresses, would you even have been interested in her at all?

  • @Kainlarsen No, I was just being a rude, because what you said was pretty rude. Would you say that to her in person?

that didnt make sense...lol I tend to do that. I meant comprehend her point in all of the opheliac album, the message. I apologize. Misleading text is common, so Im sorry if It sounds currently like I am attacking you. Perhaps I cant write correct english at times, but if you got my point, thats the whole situtation; not to attack little trivial aspects. But again, I am sorry

  • @Kainlarsen and of course I listen to her because the music! Her voice isnt all that great, in my opinion, but the music....oh I adore it! and the lyrics aswell lol Her attire is lovely, in my opinion, but clothing is overrated. People judge far too harshly over appearance. a body, is a body. clothing can form of expression, but people get too dragged into it :/ like lady gaga, not that the clothing itself bothers me much. But, everyone is entitled to their own life style.

  • i think the reason is that in the US the mainstream is more...present (for lack of a better word)

  • ouch.... the german girls english is really bad!!

    this HURTS!!!

my mother tongue is german aswell but daaamn this is really bad!

    anyways

I LOVE emilie ^^ and the girls of course

  • @thkaal1 she means three different countries not 3 different states

  • @thkaal1 she means three different countries not 3 different states

  • the rest of amercia may not have the best audience but i sure as hell would love to see her!

  • I can't wait until i move to Germany in 5 years!

  • I watched a live video of Emilie Autumn before this video and I thought she was a bit of a poser and completely pointless. But after seeing this my opinion has changed thankfully. She sounds like a great person and a great role model in certain ways!

  • I simply cannot believe that it has been three years since this interview. I honestly cannot even remember my life without Emilie, and this interview just reminded me of my roots. <3!

  • im from Germany, i wish i was still there!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Emilie is very inspirational. But I love the way she basically says that she isn't here to entertain she is here to do produce something real for herself and that others are welcome to get from what she does and she is very appreciative of it.

  • im moving to germany now

  • god you know in the beginning of this emilie looks away for 2 seconds and this interviewer is like hel-LO look at me...

  • Die Katze macht Miau

  • i think she looks like jamie lee curtis abit. she looks so damn cool and hot too. very down to earth, and clever, not to mention talented. To quote Robert Smith "why cant i be you??" *sobs*

  • Ich liebe Emilie Autumn =)

    I think I spelled that right :/

  • november 13th, Blondie discotheque, Chile!!!

  • Emilie I will be with you in Chile soon!!!

  • Wenn sie das nächste mal in Deutschland ist, will ich sie umbedingt sehen >_<!!!

  • I dont really understand what the german person is saying...

  • she looks like corpes bride in another edision!!!

  • Emily come back to Australia .. :) and do a under 19`s this time <3 you

  • I would never call a act an Goth act. I find it disrespectful. Label acts like that is like saying "Only these type of people should listen to this band and everybody else can't." Please, let the artists make the kind of music they want and throw the trendy labels in the trash.

  • Die katze macht miau! ^__^

    Emilie ist so schon!

  • I would love to have her come and perform where I live but sadly, there isn't enough fans for her. I created a group on facebook and there is only 43 people. I live in Manitoba, Canada.

  • "Die Katze macht miau" thing just made my day lol

EA's one of those artist I'd love to spend a day with... or a week, or a month haha Her music's great and she seems to be a really cool and intelligent person.

  • God she's Bloody Amazing.

  • Dear god, that woman that does the interview is awful too listen too x'D

    I love EA's voice and views :3

  • She sounds so intelligent! And she makes a lot of good points. :)))

  • am not goths but i like some of her music.

  • does anyone know who the crumpets in the back are?

i cant see the faces very well =/

    emilie autumn is brilliant <3

  • Lol--"Orpheliac"

  • @robbo43 lmao I noticed that too hahah im like Wait a minute.... XD

  • She's very right! America just doesn't have the audience that Europe does.

  • @HeartOfFantasy she's talking about what she does and what she calls music... if we talk about real music, like Rock, so there's more fans/audience in america than in europe. In america we don't give a shit about emily autumn... anyway she's really cuuute!!!

  • @HeartOfFantasy bullshit

  • In germany there are so many festivals just for goths and that's cool...I think of Mera Luna and Wave Gothic Festival and many more.

  • I LOVE EMILIE! You should come to Canada!! :DD

I would LOVE to see you in Canada!

  • @PurpleUnicorms

    I'm pretty sure she's Canadian.

  • @HarukaHatter Really!! Wooow! :DD

  • @HarukaHatter Who, Emilie? She was born in Malibu

  • Damn, Emilie is so freaking cute.. I want to hug her! ♥

  • i love emilie's style, outfit and her hair

  • It might be that in Germany, where I grew up, people gave up on judging people in most parts after the holocaust.

That's the way I always saw it. I miss it there.

  • She reminds me of violin instructor :o

That would be awesome if my violin instructor was EA undercover.

  • i thought the whole irony thing was what separated goths from emos, well that's always been my view on being a goth

  • goth is dead in america :(

cyber culture killed it. only a few zombies walk among the ruins, longing for their day

  • @RedEmeraldMoon When you say cyber culture are you referring to websites like Myspace which started the whole "myspace photo" and the scene/emo crowd that followed with it?

  • @RedEmeraldMoon wen i say im goth ppl go "o thas wat i thot cuz no 1 likes u" or " well it suits u b cuz u look werd"

  • @RedEmeraldMoon cyber culture didn't kill it. Scene and emo killed it. >.<

  • Interviewer:"...special kind of audience."

screw ya. we aint special. we are just people who like ACTUAL GOOD music. so u better start adressing alternative people as normal ones. its like social racism.

  • Dear God, I love her outfit and hair~! It's awesome! I'd totally go out in public dressed like that! (=^_^=)

  • god Oo

First time i hear her talking, no singing.

    I love her voice ^^

  • Die katze macht 'Miaou..'' :) :) :)

  • she's so awkward

  • not gothic-victorian

  • emo, goth, prep, premo, what ever. Bashing on anything or anyone won't get anybody anywhere. .-. that's what i always say.

  • she looks like the one in Alice in Wonderland.. she is SO FREAKIN WEIRD!

  • @ana9312 And weird is awesome! Yay for individuality!

  • I love her industrial music, but I still miss the Enchant era T_T

  • I recently ran across Emilie's music, and I love it! I think the style she has is amazing, though I could never do it myself. Too bad it would be hard for her to have a big show here near where I live in America...

  • @agquarx New? Emo can kiss my gothic covered ass.

  • she should look in places she doesn't think we are like oregon there are festivals for people like us here :) thats why I am here!

  • fucking communication barrier

  • emilie! youre so talented your music and voice is beautiful. mastermind of music.

  • But it's not, it's about the music, i mean if your so obsessed with death, then why are you still alive, go and kill yourself and stop wallowing in your self pain and complaining. Then there are goths who dress in black not because they want to scare people or are depressed, but simply like it, and love the music and see the irony and humor in life's hardships. So basically real goths are optimistic if you think about it, instead of wallowing in your self pity, take life as a joke and laugh

  • I dress gothic victorian, and listen to industrial and classical techno and cyber goth and regualr rock and gothic death metal, but one thing is that i noticed that there are two types of goths (not including different types like victorian goth, cyber goth etc.) i mean like there are goths who think that being goth is about death and suicide and smoking and origy and having a bad attitude.

  • @BlackRose2354 there's gothic death metal?

  • 4:56 EA your my role model!

  • I love Goth music, but I also love Punk Rock (NOT EMO). I have four songs by her, and they remind me of Siouxsie and The Banshees stuff having sex with Malice Mizer's style of Goth music.

  • I dont like the interviewers voice.

  • so true

  • what did she mean when she said the gothic community doesn't understand irony? Someone please explain. i understand irony perfectly well.

  • goths sort of like the idea of darkness, death, suicide and these kinds of things so they would think she's just saying it because it's cool. when really she doesn't agree with it, she's just trying to find the humorous/ironic and positive aspect of it. i don't know, just my opinion.

  • @XbirthdayXmassacreX oh that makes sense. But I felt that she was being more sad with it. when I first starting listening to her. So I didn't misinterpret it as "coolness" but I see how some people might. Ironically.

  • @XbirthdayXmassacreX haha Suicide.. Im laughing At U Stereotyper :P

  • @XxsekvxX i'm saying a lot of the times it's what goths think they should be or like... goth is a stereotype anyway. they may try to fit that stereotype by liking dark things like that. so don't think i' wrong for stereotyping. they may not realize it but a lot of goths actually want to be stereotyped. and there is nothing wrong with finding an interesting side of suicide. emilie has proven that to us.

  • @XbirthdayXmassacreX Hey nice Point.. Anyways the point is that things can change depending on how you see them.. :P and image can also just atract more public.. as idk lady gaga does.. how ever ty for your comment :)

  • @XxsekvxX haha thanks. that's cool.

  • This is just my explanation about what she said~

Gothic music's lyrics and music are sad without a hint of irony, always so seriously and solemnly. But you know Emilie's music also about many negative things but she deals with irony, like making fun of it. This is a very different ways from nowaday's goths. Maybe she thinks that the gothic music are so solemn, so goths must always being the same as their music and don't understand how to be ironic.

  • But btw, goths are not solemn all the time! We understand irony and can be ironic. We just deal with the dark things in a different way, when writing a song. And goth is not only about darkness, death and suicide. It's also about seeking the beauty in the dark and finding the dark side of human!!!~

  • @gothpunkinexistenter yes it is based on history and culture and mythology and if you look historically goth rises and falls OFTEN its never really gone away yet every generation acts like its new and frightening

  • @TearisShatteredMoon Agree!!!~People just never notice that the culture have been here for a long time, and they just don't take it serious. I mean they don't try to understand what is it and just freak out everytime it appear! If people are so scared of goth, why don't they try to understand what goth is really about?

  • @gothpunkinexistenter Mostly because many people refuse to listen to anything that isn't MTV, which tells them that goths are the people who sit outside Hot Topic all day long staring down people...

  • @23tsg *sigh* That's why MTV exist and that's how the people commercially make money. Sadly Goths won't sit outside Hot Topic all day staring down people. We don't stare at people, we're the one who is being stared!!!

  • @gothpunkinexistenter Goths sit outside of hot topic O.o all I ever see there are emo kids and scene kids... Sadly goth culture has died out... T.T

  • @gothpunkinexistenter Oh thank you I see now. In other words they don't know how to lighten up and make something humorous. They are always on the serious side.

  • It's odd, but I have always seen the goth or industrial culture as very centered on the self. Not selfish, but self concerned, if you follow me. I don't think you should ever feel awkward for saying your music was for your own purposes. Any other outlook from the goth music scene, and I suspect it would lose that fine edge over other forms of music.

  • Its based on being yourself, not about yourself

  • Now I would only respectfully disagree with that because I have been a goth in highschool, before emo really surfaced (or arguably resurfaced). Outwardly, gothic fashion and appearance in general is just as vain as pop beauty, albeit to a different end. There is still pressure for acceptance, in terms of the scene psychology.

And I make the claim that basing your identity on being yourself still amounts to a focus ON yourself. I would love to hear you elaborate your point, if you please :)

  • I'm still considered a "goth" because of my appearance, but labels are for cans so i dont bother with them.

Being yourself and being about yourself are different, being yourself as in developing who you are as an individual in the world, theres a difference between not following any generic norm in society in favor of being individual, and deliberately trying to be different

  • people consider me goth because i shit bats.

  • yah, punching carebears is also a good sign

  • i think the next step would be raping My Little Pony dolls.

  • Been there, not cool, my sister cried for ages after she found out

  • Emilie <3 <3 <3

  • Interview is fail.

'I want to be a part of this!'

    -long pause-

    'Of what?'

    -facepalm-

  • America should be divided up into 3 parts!

  • lets all move to germany

  • @skyeheart94

    im down!! =D

  • its in german >.>

  • i really wanna meet her T.T

  • I really like how she thinks. Oh and cool make up and stuff.

  • I'm definantely moving to Germany. A place where goth, and whatever ther out there title can thrive and be praised instead of put down and stomped on!! Emilie Autumn Lives on forever plz~k~thx...

  • I completely agree. :-)

They say America is home of the free.

But what's the point of being free if you're just going to get stepped on and thrown away. <3 Germany <3

  • shes so cool i'd love to live in a place where you dont get judged Emo for looking a certain way.

    But im like ea.

"I dont give a.....fuck about what they think"

    lol

when bethovens new sympony came out people were like

"That is the ugliest piece of shit i ever heard"

  • The closest you get to anything gothic in Ireland is tattoo shops and the basement of one hmv in dublin (which is the metal section)(yay metal)

  • i love her voice. her outfit. and her hair. *_*

    but this interviewer sucks -.-''

  • @HappyCookie95 ...the interview IS German, it's guna be hard to interview some one who speaks English

  • Im goth that follows the 1st generation ideals....and depressingly I live in America. And she's right....there just ISNT enough of us here for it to be accepted and a worshiped lifestyle. Its really really hard to come bye like minds and like people.

  • true I totally agree

  • @ShadowedDawn I live in America as well. It's nice to know i'm not the only one.

  • @ShadowedDawn

that and most of the "goths" are just mall goths going through phases. I've been goth since I was 4 years old, and I don't mean this "cry my balls out in every song" type.

  • @ShadowedDawn Very Well Said.

  • @ShadowedDawn every goth must like the cure right?

  • @ShadowedDawn i Totally agree with you there

  • @ShadowedDawn your right im not goth but i like the artstyle a lot and you just have to face the facts that there will always be posers and misconceptions

  • Great artist, exceptionally talented both musically and creatively!

  • Alas, it must be awesome to live in a place where there's more than three people in the general area who like EA... Or, for that matter, who like anything other than mainstream...
