  • vince is a real genius and legend... wonderland is total classic x

  • 707

  • hi Vince can I go jamming to your studio?

  • saw them in leicester in the 80s, andy wore a tu tu with boots! it was incredible to hear their music so bassy and loud! i did far too much loud music in the eighties, now i have tinnitus (constant ringing in ears) every minute of every day for life! PROTECT YOUR EARS KIDS, YOU SURE AS HELL DON'T WANT WHAT I GOT!! ye i though i was immune too!

"hey vince, you synth god you!"

  • It looks like a TR808 in the video.

  • Is that drum machine a TR707?

  • No, this video looks like a TR808

  • definately not an 808 the 808 is gray

    its either a 707 or a 909

  • Andy Bell!!!!

  • shit i remember rock scholl, it inspired me to play

  • wuts the song in the end....mail it to me

  • The song at the end is "My Heart So Blue" off of their debut 1986 album Wonderland.

  • i like ho whe makes such the best sounds on even lowe r priced synths look how good he makes sounds with that old Akai Synth

  • Glad he left DM. They would've fizzled away into twee pop oblivion.

  • Agreed.

  • Excellent!

    What a genious.

  • 1 genio.. solo 1 genio..

  • I thought Vince Clarke was dead! Theres an Erasure video in which a cross appears with his photo on it and a garland of flowers round it. What was that about!

  • That,s true, yes. The video is "Always" from 1994 , but he is really ALIVE

  • Vince Clarke is the SYNTH GOD! Can't wait for Erasure's new album due early-mid 2007! :)

  • I agree with all that´s been said about it.There´s a big difference between the arrengments that you can find on the yazoo´s albums and the Erasure era. Basically those bass lines are kind of complicated and that´S what makes those songs to sound unique. sometimes it´s very hard to play them ( like "don´t go", for instance )Erasure, as any other band, have strong compositions (e.g.Siren song,Tragic)and simple ones. Anyway, Vince keeps surprising me all the time.

  • BlackWing studios had classically trained composers who MUTE records (re:Daniel Miller) hired to help Vince work out his little songs (along with Daniel and Eric, of course). Proof of this is that Upstairs at Erics and You & me both showcase strong compositions with good counterpoint and descending bass lines whilst all of the Erasure crap is nothing but re-iterating synths which any imbecile can do. One day the TRUTH will come out...

  • How I see it, and I love me some Erasure as well as Yazoo, Erasure's music is an expansion on what Vince did with Yazoo. Erasure evolved and anybody can tell that their music is more mature and less colour-by-numbers than Yazoo.

  • ...but there is no denying that at times Andy sounds just like Alison. Coincidence? Me thinks not!!!

  • Take the album "Chorus" for example. Track by track it supersedes any compositional integrity any Yazoo song ever had. Perhaps Yazoo's arrangements sound simple on the outside and subtly complex on deeper listening, but Vince has only gotten better with time; using Erasure as his vehicle.

  • (Sorry 'bout the double post there)

"Didn't I Bring Your Love Down" is only two chords. You can't say it stands up to 99% of what Erasure has done. Give them another try, but with an open mind. Go beyond the radio hits.

  • Didn't i bring your love down, i think you'll find, is actually 4 chords !!! Pay attention plz m8. LOL !

  • please chill!?

  • who are you to say?

  • Chill, okay! Vince Clark has a tremendous resume as a musician. That is what gives him the credibility to say something like this.

  • LOL, basicly Vince had played with pretty bad musicians that can't keep the beat steady. To a musical genius like him, that is completely annoying when somebody can't play their music on time.
