this is nice, but it keeps slowing down and speeding up at the randomest places. its too uneven. i mean, i know that music slows down and speeds up appropriately, but his playing sounds a bit strange this way

well not really..

I was around for the original score when it was first aired on tv.. and there are a lot of notes that are missing or completely changed here..

A lot of people attempt to play this theme but I have yet to hear someone play this theme exactly how it was in the tv series.. (playing all the right notes nat adding anything and proper tempo and all..) also in the tv series there were two versions of this theme.. a fast paced one and a slow sad version which was also longer..
