look if you are going to venture out of the kitchen at least do it right. that was like a horizontal upright row. you dont bring the bar to your tits on a bb row.
@radjari What exactly is wrong with her form? She's not doing a lat row, the elbows-out kind is to decrease lat involvement and hit the upper back harder instead.
This is bad form IF she is trying to work out her lats. In this video she is working out her shoulders. The bar is out way to far. U should be touching and sliding the bar over the legs/quads!
@TheeBRANDEN54 The palms can face a variety of directions. A prone/overhand/neutral grip is useful for wide grip rows to the chest to hit the upper back. The palms facing out/forward/supine type grip is done when rowing close to the body to hit the lats, which is clearly not her intention.
@MrKucchu i am not disagreeing with you, what you said is also correct form. But what she is doing, is ALSO correct form if you are targetting the more of the upper back/rhomboids. Her form is flawless.
@MrKucchu That's only one way to do it. If you let the bar come away from the legs, it is more difficult and challenging, so not as much weight is necessary since the lats aren't helping.
Awesome video, great angle, but that is not a correct BB row. It is close though. If she had her back at a 45 rather than flat I think she would have done quite well.
Except with perfect form you will row considerably more weight when rowed from near your shins to your lower abs versus rowing from under your chest to roughly your xiphod process, due to your lats being able to properly come into play, as the exercise was designed to work.
@celconicuzn The exercise is not 'designed' a single way. Bent-over rows can be done with various grips and elbow paths to change which back muscles are working. Yes, you can use more weight with the elbows are in and you use your lats. That doesn't mean that's necessarily better though. If you don't want to hit lats and want to hit rear delts, scapular retractors, infraspinatus/teres minor, then using a lighter weight and rowing higher on the body can do this.
Actually her form is pretty sound. Her body is in proper alignment and she has her back straight. Its when people round their back and try to lift too much when back injuries occur. Unfortunately I see this a lot at the gym. Leave the ego at home people! Less weight and good form will give you results! I promise!
Sorry chief but that's hardly a proper Row, She's mostly engaging her rear delts, the bar needs to stay near your shins and come to your lower abs for it to engage your back like the exercise is meant to.
@celconicuzn Ever heard of a 'rear delt row'? Maybe she WANTS to hit her rear delts? As far as 'engage the back', this may not engage the lats much, but the rear delts attach to the scapula so any weight you pull with them is going to require the traps/rhomboids to adduct the scapulae.
It's meant to go wherever she feels for it (that sounds totally weird but I don't mean that as it sounds). I imagine you will use more lats if you pull it towards your stomach and more upper back when you pull to your chest. If the weight is heavy enough it will pull vertically on your arms, trying to tilt them backwards won't help much .. Sure for the morons pulling rows in an almost upright position working their hips vertical happens to hit your stomach, but for her it would be very awkward.
I think she knows her training ... And most people do pull to the stomach but are more or less standing straight up and pulling the bar explosively and using their arms ...
The further you lean forward the harder it is to get it upwards the stomach, and your range of motion may not let you go all the way, and the path for the bar will get weird.
Also I guess that wide grip + towards chest may put more focus on the upper back and close grip + towards stomach more on lats.
@hyphy169 Hyph, you can pull to either place depending on your goals. Pulling lower is more lats, pulling higher is more upper back. You're also wrong, she is using her back, it's not 'all arms'.
id bend you over and make a creampie video. if you know what i mean
