The GPU rendering has to do with using a 3d graphics card to accelerate the encoding. If you have it set to auto then it should go to software if you do not have an applicable card installed. If you do get an error then you may have an applicable card but it maybe actively in use by another application that is running or you may need to update\re-install your drivers.

Brilliant! I had disabled GPU acceleration in "Options" - "Preferences" - "Video" tab - "GPU acceleration of video processing" "Off" and could render in other formats. The .mp4 rendering would not work. By following your instruction I can now render. The only problem is the "File" - "Upload to youtube..." tries to render in .mp4 and I have not found the default it is using to remove the GPU processing.

My GPU is AMD 6770.

So the fix is to disable GPU Acceleration? amazing since the reason im using this software is to use GPU acceleration and the fix is to disable it, thanks sony for ur PoS software.

@GamePlaysQ8 I don't know if this will help but what I did was change the "default template" to something with HD 1280 24 since I was rendering in MPGE-2 1280-720. As of right now it's rendering fine, still on the process though so don't know what the final result will be. But it's rendering.

Right now I can't come up with a theory as to why it wasn't working before but go ahead try it and I hope it works for you too.
