ya i got a cheap one for christmas and it wouldnt start. then later in the spring it started and ran for like a couple days and then broke. we got it fixed and themn it broke agian and we couldnt repair it so just buy a better high quality one

Good ( and there are alot of shite systems about ) brushless systems deliver 1+ horsepower... to a 1/10th scale car and believe me you simply wont want more power when you can pop wheelies with them by accelerating hard and the next gen of electrics are using wireless power systems so they will have an even greater advantage on fuel based systems

Yeah, save your money on this and spend $100 more on a well known brand like Traxxas or Losi. You can get an awesome Team Associated for $100 or so more. This is great for children or beginners to the hobby, but that is it. This car is cheap and will not last long. As for Nitro being the best, I would say Brushless setups can smoke a nitro any day of the week, plus you don't have the maintenance. But anyhow, stay away from this until you are buying someone their first RC.

I bought a 3 of these for really nothing, I took one and converted it to run an 11.1v lipo. It does get a little hot but it is a rocket. It beats my neighbors VXL rustler running a 8.4. We are guessing that on the 11.1 lipo it goes about 47mph since his traxxas was clocked at 45mph. It is INSANE for my total cost with the lipo at $35.00

the problem is .. the plastic they use is slightly brittle.. also the lower and upper arms connect straight to chassis.. which also happens to be the gearbox cover..oh and the shock mount, break an arm off.. or roll it and the whole chassis needs to be replaced if the mounting points go..the arms are too strong for the chassis. plus the motor snaps the chassis by weight alone or power if you go brushless.. I dont like them but i used to..good for a stock slower setup.. slower than your driving.

I've done a lot to fix these problems. I've got a brushless setup running over 50mph with loads of torque, running 4s lipo and brushless 1900kv motor.

I will post some vids of it soon when I can, some of my mods were a bit extreme. existing vids i was running 12 nimh cells on brushed motor.

TAMIYA COPY IT MAY BE but I will say this if you can take an hbx drive train (gears only) and pop it in a Tamiya tl01 it will be more durable. Because the drive train is tighter there is a bit of binding and along wear in period I believe. (at least i have experienced in the Tamiya tl01 chassy

If you have a good battery that's charged properly it should run at least for 10 minutes.. At the end of this video I had driven this car for almost 15 minutes!

It's 895 sek or something at komplett dot se atm, looks like a nice car (atleast speed wise) to bad it's so small so I'd be afraid of ruining it in jumps and maybe it doesn't like of roading aswell but it seems to work very nice for you.

I guess something 1:10 or so would be better for jumps thought, or is it worse because they crash harder? Komplett also had the lego one for 1495 but it was only 20km/h compared to over 35km/h for this one so it seems a little slow =P

Correction of my own reply, this one was 50km/h it seems, it was a 1:18 truck which made 35km/h and a lego racer which did 20 km/h. The lego one seemed quite sturdy and fun but it cost more than this one and is not even half as fast =P
