  • I think that barking dog wanted a piece of that chinaman!!

  • niiicccce , its refreshing to see a tiger form like this

  • NIce form my friend!!

  • wow great form i love how with tiger is soo effective in the street as well as ring

  • wow great form i love how with tiger is soo effective in the street as well as ring

  • What do you reach with such a form?

  • I would love to learn any form of shaolin or King fu. Not for the fighting of it but the great body&mind control it teaches you. If any one knew of a place around West Virginia ( out in the sticks I know) but I would be most appreciative of it. The balance/Speed/strength/ and over all control this martial arts traingin would be great. Please let me know if you know of any where. Thanks. Kudos on the demonstration as well

  • If you want real fu jow, I'd have to come out of retirement. I'm probably only going to teach my son.

Real fu jow requires intense body body hardening, expanding of ones physical tolerance, learning the 7 claws and strengthening the hands to do them.

The rest is guided imagery and animal mimicry.

  • It looks like hes not concentrating on his footwork. His legs just seem to be going along with his torso. Just an observation.

  • Looks a little like Hun Gar...

  • hung gar is from shaolin. its a base style of the five animals. perhaps the most traditional as it stands ever since the post revoulution of martial arts in chna

  • I like it! I study hung gar and that form looks like something from the hung system, yet also like stuff from fu jow pai. So it goes to show how much each system influenced the other.

  • Yeah I completely agree with that thing about influence:)

Only difference is that I study Wing Chun school that separated from Shaoling a few centuries ago and we lack some forms. We are known for having a few moves but we also are know for making a whole lot of combinations from that little we have:)

  • U r also known for being able to fight in confined spaces

  • @naitomeaichiban: that is quite true. But on the other hand we've got a long staff form, which relies on distance keeping and has mabu as a stance. But in general, yes, we are specialised in close quarters combat. Unfortunately not all families of Wing Chun are truly skillful and have capable masters. I am lucky to be taught by members of Lok Yiu family.

  • @Roflosic Lol, sorry dunno much about the families, but I kno that, like u said, not all wing chun families can actually 'walk the walk' so to speak

  • these styles requires a lot but a lot of stamina, cardio and strenght

  • That looks like a Hung Gar form.

  • looks more like fu jow pai to me...

  • definitely not fu jow. its hung gar with tiger hand postures. I have done tiger for 30 years.

The funny thing is Korea has better pre communist chinese kung fu than the Chinese!!! Almost everything that is truly traditional from China is Southern. There's no northern tiger anymore. The buddhist temples in korea have doen a fabulous job of preserving northern style. youjust have to know where to look. there is good stuff in taiwan too.

  • Just a question cuz I really don't know, is Tiger the one where u put your right foot up, and have ur two hands close to your head in a clawed likeness?

  • Exactly! How insightful! I enjoy this very much...yet I am wondering if anyone minds the mix of both...I myself see it as no problem being they come from the same basis...I am most honored to learn this style...

  • I guess it depends. If you think a system is prescriptive, then you think it is a system that prescribes what you do and that means it is clear, distinct and authoritative. Nothing watered down. Just the true lineage.

If a system or thinking is merely descriptive, then it merely suggests themes, guidelines.. this is what it LOOKS like.. not necessarily what it actually IS.

Either method can be valid, but as a student yoru job is to ferret out which is which. Your teacher may not even know.

  • looks like a southern style to me.

  • A shaolin monk can hit u in the chest so hard that his hand will touch your spine.

  • wow guy, youre actually the gayest. and lemme guess, you think ufc and mma is the best right? lol youre so stupid, and if you try to act tuff wit ur reply, then im jus gon laf my ass off

  • uhh you just made me pea myself im so scared

  • First of all, its spelled: pee

Second of all, why did you think i would want to scare you? Im just telling you the truth.

  • im not sure is thata shaolin form...

but indeed its very good performed n worked :)

  • Good Fu jao

  • hao
